Photo-radar

c-sharp minor

Well-known member
They just brought the photo-radar system to my city this year to catch speeders and other traffic violators.

Well, I thought I knew where all the radar intersections were as the locations were made available to the public.

It turns out they have mobile-fukking-photo-radar!!!!!!!

I got nabbed going 75 in a 60 zone. My first ticket in 20 years of driving.

The ticket is only 90$ but I'm still fukkin' pissed off.

I think I'm gonna go fuck up some little wanna-be-gangsters to get my aggression out.

Sneaky fukkin' cops.

We don't have those things around here, yet.
I've always wondered what keeps those things from getting vandalized? It is just cameras with radar, right?

Some guy from out of town got a ticket going through one of the stationary cameras and took a baseball bat to it.

He ended up with criminal chages against himself.

Turns out though, he couldn't have even been ticketed for some reason I can't remember. lmfao

In AZ We have Red Light Cameras...Its funny because it makes it more dangerous than before.

A. If its at night and your going through an intersection, it emits a bright Flash when it takes the pic, next time Im gonna swerve off the road and kill somebody and sue Phx.

B. Usually, Ill just duck my head down below the dash so it cant get my face, this always works but obviously having your head down below the dash while running a red at 60mph is dangerous.

It doesnt bother me though...Speeding cameras or red light...because I have my truck registered in my girls name and she has her car in mine...they can never make any of the tickets stick.

We've had those in DC for years now.

I went to the hearing to contest the ticket and had it written off on a technicality. The adjudicator said that 70% of tickets have bad paperwork on them because there's so much of it and there's a shallow learning curve for the cops to learn to fill it out.

If you contest it, since it's new in your area, there's a good chance the cop filled out the paperwork out wrong and you'll get off scot free.

Fucking jerks, don't deserve a dime for their nefarious scheme.

HANSEL: The tickets here are sent to the registered owner of the vehicle, regardless of who is driving.

That sucks. "It aint a crime if you dont get caught" Is still the American way here:) They have to have your Pic, in your registered car in order to make it stick. I have gotten out of many.

The thought of contesting the ticket entered my mind, but I figured I got nabbed so I should do the penance. ;)

So True Lumberg.

I beat a ticket because the cops wrote on their report that they "paced" me going 62, 65, 71. and wrote on my actual ticket 60+. I'll never forget the look on that sheister prosecuters face, lol.

HOW the HELL does the Resources area next to the Elite Quick Reply all match the topic of speeding tickets and stuff>?????

That sucks, in Delaware they cant have that shit, and 3/4 of the car has to be visible from 60 yards away, so they cant hide behind bushes and they cant park around the corner and walk up to the road, they get introuble for entrapment, its nice cause i have time to speed up to 50 over the speed limit and then slow down before i get there you can see them so well.

Those damn things don't hold up well in court at all. I would go to court if anything to make the damn prosecutor and cop have to show up for court. If everyone showed up for a trial it would put a serious dent in the profitability of these revenue raising scams.

If you go to court, you're already losing money on lost wages, gas (if you're out of state), waiting for 3 hours in a room, etc. etc. They make it as much of a pain as possible to discourage you from even fighting it in court. And if you lose, adding insult to injury, they tag COURT COSTS on top of it!

Oh the multi-million dollar revenue genearting system is fucking tight and perfect. The public will never win. The house always has the upper hand.

-= nav =-

Dude, you pay court costs whether you go to court or not. Take a close look at the ticket. Normally the fine is like $10 but the court costs are another $60-$150. It's illegal for you to be penalized further for exercising your right to due process.

It's just another encroachment on our civil liberties. Fucking law enforcement has to know everthing about us, as well as do everything in there power to make sure that not one dollar in revenue from speeding tickets is lost.

True story since… Ahem….

They put a red light camera by my old precinct on Sutter Ave and Pennsylvania. After a 4x12 we don’t stop for light, never have. In that shithole you better keep moving especially if you are white.

A few weeks later pretty much on the same date they tickets start coming in. One after the other for each and every night the light was blown.

Within a few days the camera had more bullet holes than then the far end of a target range!

Coincidence?

what's a 4x12?

And the stationary lights are no big deal to spot....it's the car-mounted ones that are so insidious. You can't vandalize them because there's a cop sitting in the car. I suppose you could walk up to the car and report a crime down the street so he has to take off or something. Or just make conversation while accidentally standing in front of the camera or flash unit.

I hate those fuckers, I wish there was a way to fuck with them.

The worst part about all of this...

is that many of the traffic laws we get these bullshit tickets for... are designed to collect revenue and NOT to increase safety. Its a scam.

The government fully admits this is about $$$.

They were actually complaining they weren't getting enough traffic violators and therefore not receiving enough income from the newly installed cameras.

Speed people.......speed.....

we have had thoses things for a long time now! it'a just a hazard of having a heavy right foot! we also have them on traffic lights, to catch people going through red lights.

Well, if cities have money to spend on machines to replace police officer for the purpose of issuing tickets, than shouldn't some police officers start to get downsized?
