Personal Q???? about competing

Okay I need some advice. The red tide came in today and I just realized it times up with my comp. on Aug. 18th. :( I have been at 10% with no interuption in my cycle. I 'm hoping to be at 7% to compete. Has any one competed when they are having their period? Should I forget this comp.? I'm afraid I'll be washed out from water retention. I need some solid advice. Thanks, Flexkitten

I bet it stops by 8%. I was concerned about that too, but it stopped. I was at 8-9% in my first comp. Actually stopped for my second comp when I got down to 12% (too fat for comp, but it still stopped) and then came back when I got back above that. For water retention nolvadex was recommended. Maybe someone else here can give you more info on that.... I'm still new to the body chemistry going on here.

Good luck on your comp!!!!!

Never happened to me personally, but it seemed to be THE topic of discussion at nearly ever comp I did last year (I did three). The majority of competitors be they bbing or fitness where like, "DAMMIT!" But as we chatted, it was odd that the majority of women WERE menstruating. I don't know their bf% at the time, but they were pretty lean (bbing) and were first or second place finishers in weight class. Granted, they were only local level competition so nobody was really shaving their face the morning of the show (heheheheh....Calm down, not taking any cheap shots at use - just trying to circumvent a question) :D

Lobo - U R waaaaaaaaaaaay too funny, nothing like a phonebook in a posing suit to give a competitor the feeling that she has that "edge" that will make her stand head and shoulders above the crowd. LOL
