perpetual cold, plz help

i was real close to having to go to the hospital to hit the nebulizer last night, fuggin could not breath these last few days.
i know the cause, it's these goddamn hairy cats i've been staying with...i can see the dander in the air.
claritin sucks cacks, short of a albuterol inhaler, what else can i do?

gotten worse over the years, last night i was chasing my breath laying down.
hyperventilating a bit.
had a persrpition inhaler but it ran out and my insurance doesn't fire back up till march 1st

I've always had hayfever and although cats hair and stuff does make it a bit worse, there are a few things that just make me sneeze out of control for as long as it takes before I take some benadryl. Somedays I can sneeze for hours on end - am just glad I don't have breathin issues!

yeah sneezing and running nose sucks, but nothing is worse than the breathing thing.
i had to sleep on the deck last night and it's cold as fug here.

doesn't work worth a shit for me but others like it

Much expereince with this actually. Hot steamy shower will give immediate short term results just so you know.
All those oral meds have done little, zytec may help a bit and be worth a shot though. An occasional half or quater of a clen dose can help as well. I'll Pm you....

since i don't have ins for a few months i'm gonna ride it out.

my hubby is allergice to cats like that. we have 2 and he has very little problems.

for one thing, keeping the house clean is a must. vaccuum (have someone else do it if possible) really really well. and dust everything.
wash your sheets and blankets if you can, and do NOT let the cats in the bedroom at all.

are they indoor cats? mine never go outside, so they are also super clean. since it's only going to be another 2 days, you won't need this, but an air purifier works wonders.

try zyrtec but if you have allergies to cats, that can bring on allergy induced asthma. if you dont remove the allergen, then you may likely not ever get 100% relief of your symptoms

nope, I'd love too. Ever try taking a low dose of clen for asthma reasons? Stuff helps! I had an EX who had a Cat, I could never do it again. Allergies and the thing used to shit everywhere.

well, i keep my house clean regardless of the cats, so that's not a factor.
the only thing i do because of the cats is use an air purifier.

he loves them too.

Pretty much started from the age of 12 and went on to the age of 25 - kinda stopped a few years before i moved out here so 5+ years in total now although recently I have started sneezing crazy again but not due to hayfever, more to do with some allergy that I haven't discovered yet. It's related to perfumes/cosmetics cause it usually goes off around women/bathrooms...

Nope. You only force immunity by getting allergy shots.

Right now what you're succeeding in doing is causing the cold to hang on longer and be more severe because your immune system is already overburdened by purposeful exposure to known allergens.

Yep...I highly recommend allergy shots....been getting them for awhile now and stopped taking any kind of meds for allergies completely.
