but then again, message boards are fun because there are so many viewers that you are bound to find a few like minded people.
The URL in my signature is for a website that is devoted to the idea that scientific achievement can and will eliminate emotional trauma the same way we have largely (compared to 300 years ago) elimated physical suffering. This is coming true, and all the reasons can't be listed due to my ignorance of the situation and the many varieties of medical knowledge in regards to suffering. Taking an adrenaline inhibitor 3-4x a day for the first month after a traumatic event can prevent PTSD from formind. SSRI's are used to equate brain chemicals, which in some people can solve problems they once felt could never be solved.
Am i the only person here who has any faith in science? science is my god. even though i am not a scientific genius, i still, in essence, worship science. I almost start crying as i look at all the achievements science makes. A few days ago i was reading about how scientists may find the cure for cirrhosis of the liver

for those that don't know, cirrhosis of the liver is the 7th leading cause of death in america. and this achievement is so normal now (for leading causes of death to have working treatments) that it was barely noticed. Science is curing problems so fast that finding a potential cure to the 7th leading cause of death in america isn't even unnatural enough to make headlines anymore.
i have no idea why i'm posting this. I plan to be a RN soon. i would like to be involved in the medical sciences somehow (preferably medical research in a laboratory, but i don't know if that is plausible).
Science is my God. It will keep me safe when i am scared, it will protect me from evil, and it will be there tomorrow. And it is tangible. And i want to help it grow.
