"perfect" source of fat

If I am doing a 50p/30c/20f hypocaloric diet, what would be the absolutely ideal source of fat? I am eating tuna, egg whites and whey for my protein, and veggies and oats for my carbs. basically, I will be getting almost all of my fat from an oil blend and/or nut butter or something like that.

I am currently using Udo's, but is there a blend that is more ideal? If someone tells me to take x% oil A, x% oil B, x% oil C, etc. that is fine. I will buy the oils seperately if it is ideal. Thanks in advance for any advice or information (anything at all).

UDO's choice is a good one
Flax is useful for ots omega 3s
and hemp oil has the perfect composition:

No other plant source has these essential amino and fatty acids in such easily digestible form and in such a perfect profile to meet human nutritional requirements. Hemp oil, light green in colour, contains 55.4% Linoleic Acid (LA, Omega-6) and 17.9% Linolenic Acid (LNA, Omega-3) in the 3:1 ration that matches human nutritional requirements. It also provides 2.4% Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) found in evening primrose, black currant and borage oils (Hinz, Thunder Bay).

Leson, G., Petra Pless. 1999. Hemp Foods & Oils for Health. Hemptech.

People get plenty of omega-6's naturally, there is no need to supplement. Use flax and fish oil.

That 3:1 ratio might have some health benefits (I have not looked into the matter), but it is absolutely not ideal for body composition.

50% flax oil and 50% fish oil.

I think I will do that, with a bit of peanut butter in the morning so I don't puke on my egg whites :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

I agree with Anthrax, hemp is perfect. Flax has a bit too much omega 3's in its ratio (which isn't bad if you're not getting ALL your fats from flax oil), but hemp is right on.

what exactly is the beneft of having a good source of fat?
Good question. I am doing a diet with about 50% protein. I need my calories from some other source, and I want to minimize insulin while maintaining energy levels, so I need to consume fat. I want to eat the fats that will help promote fat-burning, hormone production and metabolism as much as possible.

That would be omega-3's, and a bit of saturated fats, which you will be getting plenty of if you eat red meat.

Ok,
So is it a good idea to take cod liver oil, with just a Tbsp of peanut butter in the morning for taste? Is that too much cod liver oil if I am getting the majority of my fat from it? Is peanut butter good? I am so far from understanding dietary fat that I just need someone knowledgeable to tell me the facts...
