People of "spanish" decent don't generally have two middle names, what they/we do have is two last names; your name, dads last name, moms last name

we do have two names and two last names. Very common practice

the two names is a choice of the parents though, even though my wife and myself have two names each, our son has only one (but two last names)

My wife picked up three middle names plus the two surnames. If I ignore the obligatory Maria then she's down to two middle names, the latter of which is the one she uses as her given name.

Another trait is using two names at once. Juan Pablo being a current popular one from Maria Juan Pablo's racing notoriety.
