Seriously do you have any idea how much you stink some chick came into the store I could hardly stand next to her she smelled so bad of smoke. She has left the store and the smell still lingers :sick:

nah, just cigars. but not in the house or car and not enough to make me stink. my boss smokes and the dude wreaks 24/7. it's nasty, but they don't seem to give a shit.

Eck when I was younger I had a BF that smoked I made him brush his teeth after each one when I was around or I wouldn't kiss him.

I hate it. My company has two smoking rooms. A secretary in my group smokes. She's goes to that room at least 5 times a day to smoke.
 
I smoke cigarettes and cigars occasionally. It does stink when I smell someone that just had one. Most often it really stinks because they were doing it in an enclosed space like their house or car.
 
YOu know whats funny or interesting? Yeah I smoke and yes it smells nasty no doubt. I have to agree on that one. I always spraying body spray and stuff on me if i go out to smoke so when I come back in the smell isnt there or isnt as bad. We had one girl who sent out an email the day she quit sying goodbye to everyone and to me she wrote, To the best smelling coworker. LMAO.

but yeah smoking sucks.

Hate that smell, it makes me sick.. nothing is grosser than old stale tobacco lingering on someones clothes, hair and breath.

if he didnt brush before lickin that kitty then you might have got all kinds of nasty tar and stuff on your bits.. having a yellow tounge slurping you down must have been a major turn on :D
 
I hate the smell of ciggarette smoke too. I have a couple of people living with me in my house right now and they both smoke but not in the house. However when they step outside on the back porch and then come back inside usually the whole living room will stink pretty bad for about 10 minutes or so. Worst smell ever.

Whats funny is if I'm out at a bar and have had a couple drinks ciggarettes actually smell good to me and I'll usually light one up from a buddy. I don't know what it is about alcohol that makes a cigg taste and smell good. It is probably indicative of dopamine driven anticipation brought on by the booze. However when I smell my shirt the next morning I hate that smell again.

I'm loving living in DE where smoking is now banned everywhere..... I despise cigarrette smoke....the habit is reprehensible...
 
I used to smoke like 7 cigs a day but about 5 months ago I cut down to just when I drink so ~2 days a week. Nobody really cares about smell then because we are usually around alot of smokers and you don't notice it. Plus, people are hammered.

Goddamn I love cigs. It's weird quitting anew for the next 5 days.
 
I only smoke crack and I hate cigarettes, seriously who gives a shit, people trying to ban smoking everywhere are just assholes once again trying to limit the freedoms in this country(the lawmakers are hard at work trying to create more rules for your lives). WTF, cig. smoke smells bad but the nose only smells a smell for a very short period before adaptation takes place and olfaction cant be registered. Grab the reins

Remember, we have been culturally brainwashed/told/guided into finding smoking "disgusting". Funny how no one complained about smokers in the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's. I've spoken to numerous folks ranging in age from 50 - 98 years old regarding this particular subject. None of them have said that the hype/furor/judgement over cigarrette smoke/smell/appearance was even on the radar. Several have agreed that it's mostly due to public campaigns to make us see smoking as "nasty" and "disgusting" and "invasive to others". Back then it was just something you did. In reality, it's still just a habit that really isn't very good for you in the long run and that's about it. How bout some context folks?

Mind you one could speculate that back then there wasn't a shit-mix of toxic chemicals ADDED to the tobacco. It was just straight tobacco. Therefore less addictive, likely smelled different too.

While I've only been "around" in the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc....I've ALWAYS found smoking nasty & disgusting.....I've always been allergic to it.....I had childhood asthma because my parents smoked 2 cartons a day -- EACH!! All my childhood respiratory probs were caused by being around cigarettes. To this day, if I'm around it -- my respiratory system shuts down & I have flu-like symptoms for days afterwards.

How I see smoking has nothing to do with media conditioning....

No restaurants, buildings, bars, etc.....

I really don't care if people smoke in their homes.....I wouldn't be going over if they were smokers....

So....the world should change for you? I can not stand certain perfumes that women wear and it gives me a huge headache. Should I start asking them to not wear the shit? I would never do that. Just like I duck when there's a branch in the way when I'm walking through the bush, I avoid these smells when possible when walking through the world.

You have a condition then, that is not "all things being equal". There is always anecdotal situations. I'm talking about a population/culture here.

People that smoke piss me off to.

But the ones that REALLY piss me off are the ones that burst into flames!

Whoa, 2 CARTONS a day? That's impossible. I'll assume you meant packs, which two packs a day is a shitload. My old boss used to smoke 2 packs each day just at work, prolly another one at home.

I work with a couple of guys that I can't stand to be around because they smoke so much they stink, their clothes stink, and they look like they are going to drop dead soon.

Yup.. they smell.. i was the drinker/ smoker.. but i hvn't done it in 2 months... and its nice... my ex gf got me hooked a little.. then just did it on weekends... im glad i havn't smoked in a while... i hope i can keep this up.

You missed the point. She was elaborating on why she doesn't like smoking and how it has nothing to do with the media.

Plus for the fact that second hand smoke is dangerous to others, so should everyone have to suffer because some people want to kill themselves?

My great aunt had emphasema from second hand smoke and recently died, I also had an uncle die from lung cancer from smoking. So I really really hate smokers as having watched two people I love go through that I am certain that no one should be forced to suffer like that. If people want to smoke at home that's fine but I have the right to go in public places and not be poisoned by their foul habits.

I'm fine with folks not smoking in public areas inside and stuff. But what I think is just ridiculous is for people to be judging smokers based on what they smell like. How bout I start judging women by they look like...wait! bad example. How bout I start judging folks cause they're fat pigs, or wear shitty perfumes, or smell like curry, or take part in extreme sports thereby endangering their lifes on a much shorter term basis and burdening our health care system for their own enjoyment? Why single out smokers? How bout folks that have unprotected sex? People who don't flush the toilet? People who curl in the squat rack (well that might be justified!), etc. etc. There is a MILLION bad things we ALL do to/for ourselves. Why single out smokers? Judge not....etc.

Further idiots in Toronto standing on a street corner complaining about some guy 10 feet away who's smoking while they're all inhaling toxic air from exaust that FAR exceeds a whif of second hand smoke outside....sheesh!

I'm not advocating smoking. I'm saying the hate and hype over it is overdone and has been socially engineered (aside from folks with athsma and parents who smoke 2 cartons a day (impossible)).

Actually, some perfumes & yes, campfires will affect my allergies as well...

BUT -- neither perfume or campfires will kill you. Smoking has serious proven horrible side effects..... There's a difference..... a BIG one....

ive quit after smoking for 10 years and now i can smell it on someone and know exactly what you mean

I work in a bar, and I come home smelling like that crap every night, and I hate it. I can't wait for the no-smoking nazi busybodies in my state to finally get one past the state legislature. They've come close a few times, it's just a matter of time.

Good god, that's no excuse for allowing smoking in public places. Heck, you could make the same excuse for storing corpses on the sidewalk. After all, you'll stop smelling it after a while.

The average restaurant or bar employee inhales the equivalent of two pack of cigarettes worth of second-hand smoke over an eight-hour shift.

When I used to smoke on a regular basis, I would compare my break schedule with all the non-smokers because some of those twits had the audacity to complain about how many breaks smokers took. On average, I and several of my coworkers that smoked would take three or four five minute breaks per day besides our lunch hour. Every single non-smoker took a minimum of two 15 minute breaks per day besides their lunch hour. Now who is getting more break time?

Well, I guess that varies from company to company, of course.....But where I used to work, we didn't get any official break-time. We didn't have, where @ 10:15, say, you got 15 minutes break. If you had to pee, you got up & went.

Now, the smokers took 10 minutes every hour + their lunch hour + their bathroom/get up for coffee, water, etc breaks. So the smokers had "breaks" of about 1 hour extra per day.....Pissed me off to no end....

That would piss me off as a smoker as well. I never smoked that much so wouldn't be able to take that many smoke breaks even if it were allowed.

That's abnormal though. Most companies have a standard amount of break time.
 
Yes I agree smoking is some foul crap.I kicked ciggies and weed and I now know why my other half used to complain.Not only do they wreak it makes me feel like shit and is dangerous to your health and cost a lot of money,truly putred.

This company made no sense in so many things...... I'm afraid to get another job now because of them.... :lmao:

But, yes, the smokers took many, many breaks & the bosses never said anything.....the non-smokers didn't & had to pick up all the extra work :mad:
