People In NYC!!! Need Help

I need to go to 51st and lexington later today. What is the best way to gewt there, by bus or by train. I am leaving from central jersey and have access to both forms of transportation.I dont know what is closer grand central or penn. Anyone who can help me asap, it is greatly appreciated..

Grand Central - close subway #6 to lex/51

or Take the Path train to 23rd street and get the V train to lex/51

Go to grand central... from there take the #6 train to 51st.. fastest way.
Grand central is 42nd as it is... you can walk up if you want.
