How much would a decent apartment in a nice neighberhood run me? preferably in the scottsdale area. 2 bedrooms, utilities included, and furnished. is 500 a month out of the question?

For $500 per month in Scottsdale, you could rent storage space. You're looking at $1,000 per month, bare minimum, for what you describe.

Check out Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Gilbert. They're not as upscale, but but you can find a nice, safe area that won't break you.

He is right (gymtime) My folks live down that way and unless you want your car/home broken into everynight you will have to pay the grand.

i was down there a few months ago and stayed wiht a couple buddies of mine. 2 bedrooms, security gate...nice living arrangement, and they said they only paid 450 a month...but that didn't include utilities. I can't remember where it was at , I want to say it was off north camelback and 79th.
