Pedophile or Animal??

sigh... i'm going to be ripped on for this, but here we go.
I'd save the pedophile. First off, the person may be a pedo, but they are still a human being. What if it was a woman, you guys would have saved her in a heartbeat. And you can't deny that. Even if it was a guy, he'd serve a much greater punishment alive in prison than dead and nothing happening to him but seconds of mental anguish as he/she drowns. I'd rather they have their ass/cunt be pummeled in jail.

Actually, we had a variation on this post before: who would you save, a homeless person or your personal pet? -- of course, people were asking how smelly the homeless person was -- pets still won.
The truth is, for most of us, the value of human life is relative, literally, who is this PERSON in relation to you? I know most of us can think of at least one person we would literally throw ourselves in front of a train to protect without hesitation ... but a generic "PERSON" ??? ... let's be honest, over 100,000 people died in that Indonesian tsunami, unless you actually had someone directly involved with it, who here gave it much more than a "Damn, that Sucks," thought?

Let me just say, I work for the railroad... I do not recomend anyone doing this. It is quite messy and can fuck up the heads of the people on the train. Doesn't bother me, but some guys I work with WILL NOT go over the road for this reason.... However, maybe throw the pedo in front the train, I doubt it would bother them. ;-)

Short answer, yes. No other animal does that. Yes, there are cases of animals raping (which I'd really love to read some research on because I have to wonder if it's in any way an aberration caused by domestication/environmental stressors). I'm reading a really interesting book "animals in translation" by Temple Grandin. There is behavior that is linked to physiology, so in the case of selective/exclusive breeding (like breeding for bigger growing chickens) you get neurological aberrations.blueta2 said:

To me, an animal's or a plant's life has relative value but is worth FAR less then any single person's life because a person has the possibility to turn themselves around and begin again. There is the gift of human potential. Sure, some are pathological this or that; but there is always the possibility.
An animal is ruled by instinct. There is no chance. For example, if you were bleeding in the forest, the wolves won't think to themselves "give the girl a chance" or "let's take care of her" or "let's kill her in a human - non painful way" or "let's start a collection to save the lost humans".
