Anyone else on this? I just got a prescription and worked up to the full dose. I feel pretty good. I think the only side effect I'm experiencing is constipation. Let me know if you guys have any experience.

I hope you don't have a girlfriend or plan on getting laid a lot... something like 70% of men on it report sexual side effects. For me, it wasn't that I had trouble getting it up, I just could not get off...for real... it sucked. Paxil make many guys limp-dicked zombies... I mean, it keeps you happy, but at what price... If you are taking it merely as an anti-depressant, then you might think of getting put on Wellbutrin which very rarely has sexual side effects (in fact, it improves some people's sex drives/performance)... If you are on it more for anti-anxiety, then you might think about Buspar - it has a low occurence of sexual side effects. I mean, if thats important to you...it is to me... I got a buddy who never gets laid and used to always be pissed about it...now, he's on paxil - he still never gets laid, but he doesn't care b/c he doesn't have a sex drive anyways b/c of the Paxil! Personally, the shit isn't for me. A wellbutrin/buspar combo makes me right and keeps me fucking... I'd recommend it over Paxil or any other SSRI anytime, but everyone's dfferent.

My shrink is trying to get me off Xanax and Prozac,
He put me on Paxil and I wigged out, anxious, paranoid and gained weight,
I stopped cold turkey (except for the xanax) now 5 months later still on Xanax and Prozac.

Paxil is one of the strongest SSRI's. Its good stuff.
If you wanna combat the sexual sides, take BuSpar with the paxil. Sexual sides go bye bye. =)

the sexual sides are not limited to limp dick. When I was on SRIs I could get it up but it would take forever to climax, and sometimes you just don't...and of course the chick takes this personally. Welbutrin helped this, but even on prozac/welbutrin I had a complete lack of that sexual "tingly" feeling, and in general emotional numbness. these effects sneak up on you, so keep an eye out for them.
Been on Paxil for over five years, have gradually been able to reduce the dose to 20mg ED. Never had any problem getting it up, even at higher doses, but do have problems finishing, which has made my gf very happy. No constipation, but it does cause me to sweat a lot. Though Buspar is supposed to alleviate the erectile dysfunction aspect of SSRI's, I found that it didn't do shit for my anxiety and dumped it after a year. Experimented with 10mg Paxil ED, but then pumped it back up to 20, and intend to be there forever, unless it ever stops working for me. Wellbutrin and Prozac only exacerbated my anxiety.

Thanks guys. I got it for anxiety. I'm going to try three months of the stuff and if it causes me any problems that I don't like, I'll just go back to being plain ol' edgy/jumpy/twitchy/fucked up me. The doc gave me some .25 xanax too....just tried one cause I couldn't sleep this morning and it relaxed the fuck out of me, but I didn't sleep. I'm 250....should I up the dose of xanax?
I take 30mg Paxil and 300mg Wellbutrin. There are no known interactions with steroids. Paxil may or may not change your metabolism and/or hunger. Everyone's different. Personally, I gain weight on Paxil because I don't want to eat when I'm depressed.
Almost certainly, though, it will screw with your sex drive. It may be hard to get an erection (excuse the pun), difficult to orgasm, or you can just be less interested in sex. At my dosage, I can't get off with condoms. Without condoms it just takes longer.
For less sexual side effects, try Serzone and/or Wellbutrin.

the main sides are inability to ejaculate, constipation, dry mouth, lack of sex drive,weight gain
I've been on 40mg for a year now. No sides to speak of...Not even in the sexual functioning department as so many speak of. It does nothing for my anxiety, but xanax and buspar work well on me for that. It does even out my moods so I'm not always in the dumps. I'm on AS year round and thus far I can't notice and interactions.

Decided to shit-can my Paxil therapy. Kept me up all night. "No sleep for you, one week!" I'd rather be a twitchy fucker than tired all the time.

I recentely phase from imipramine to paxil after 15 years of being on it. I was scared shittless for the anxiety to explode but got a perscription for ativan and im fine. Now my point, all of you taking a bezo to control the anxiety arent you concerned that maybe the anxiety has long been addressed but the craving addictive need for the bezos have taken the place of any real anxiety. Bezo addiction is complicated and very hard to lick. In scarede to death to get of the ativan to just rely full time on the paxil-what do you all think-Mark

Man Im scarred! Ive been on paxil now for 6 months. My personality has changed for the worst. I have been arrested 3 times in the past year. All of them for assult and battery. My attitude is to not give a Fuck. If anyone is on it right now, get off it a.s.a.p. Dont risk it. There are other alternatives especially herbal ones such as St.johns wort, 5-HTP, and L-Tyrosine. The herbs valerian root and Kava Kava are useful for anxiety. Take from me, dont make the same mistake I did.

I can attest to Ginkgo Biloba being fantastic for erections.. whether you are on SSRI's or not - try 180mg of G'B' per day.. it's great.
Alternatively talk to your doctor about adding a dopamine reuptake inhibitor to your anti-depression/anxiety regime.. Welbutrin perhaps.

Take some inositol with the SSRI - I absolutley gaurantee that you will like the results. The inositol will enable you to use less SSRI. Add 2 to 5g a day of inositol. And take a good quality B-complex. Take Ginkgo in doses of around 180mg for sexual sides of SSRI's.

Nope. Nothing like that is even listed. Certainly, if you were a total wimp, and then started taking Paxil and AS, you'd certainly be WAY more aggressive.
Hate to say it, but looks like you're just using it as an excuse to be an asshole. Get control of yourself!!
