parents called me up with a computer problem - my fix isn't working

ok, so my mom got a creative zen (creative labs answer to ipod), and now my dad is all pissed off that their media player opens up when he tries to organize and transfer music to his phone.

well, apparently this thing made itself their computer's default player.

so, i told him to associate all mp3 files with winamp, to open up winamp and select all file types to open up with, and go under the creative labs player and disassociate all media files from opening. (he says he already did all of this)

well, he did all of that and the fucking thing is still opening up the mp3s with this shitty software. it's like it is reversing the settings on the fly.

so, how can i tell them to un-fuck this thing, so they will stop complaining to me about it...besides uninstalling the fucking thing?

The only thing that I can think of is that the creative labs player reassociates all media files everytime it is used. But it should only do that after requesting an OK click on a pop-up menu.

Ask your dad what icon is displayed next to the filenames of the media files - IE if it's the creative labs player icon then he didn't disassociate file yet, or it reassociated.
