Paper Denim Jeans

Lestat

MVP
EF VIP
got my first pair today.

Question, there is a tag sewn to the outside of the back pocket, why do they do that? I am going to remove it, but it just seems kinda lame.

Mine don't have that tag. You sure they're authentic? Where were they made?

yeah, 100% legit.

Tag pulls right off, its the big one with the style and everything.

Denim from Italy, made in the USA.

I like them but I got the slim ones and they are tight as fuck around my thighs.

Oh, that tag. Yeah I like how mine fit. Even with bigger thighs, they fit better than any other pants I wear my size.

These will be mocked like acid washed pants.

100% geigh

they are just one of the new trendy jeans..

hand made... american.. that is what the high end brands are now... average of 6 hours going into making them.

All for $185 a pair.

but i agree, guys takling about jeans like this is geigher then gay.

You're being a hypocrite.

Never - and I mean never - underestimate how the stupidity of the American male will cause him to pay for something that he thinks will attract women or make him seem cool.....

never. and advertisers know it too, hence the whole "metrosexual" fraud. I investigated this stuff for, hmmmm...two days, and smelled the fag-a-licious-ness.

Note to guys: the Y chromosome is supposed to make you different. Y does not stand for

YuppieFaggotImpressMediocreWomenWithYourTiredBoringLives.

The YUPPIE straight guy of today is yesterday's homo, worrying about fashion, getting manicures.

Un fucking believable.

OK rant over.

I used to think the same thing.

Here is how I got my first pair of expensive jeans...

Until this point I'd never paid more then $50-75 a pair.

I went to nordstrom, said I needed a new pair of jeans, tried on 6 pairs. Didn't even look at the price, just picked the one that looked the best, and was comfortable.

Bam... price was $169 and they were some brand I'd never heard of... 7 for all Mankind.. turns out its some high end brand that every chick I dated had heard of.. i started noticing them all the time and what not.

You sound like the person saying.. "I'd never wan a BMW, my toyota corrolla is SO much moer reliable" Sure a corrolla is a great value, will get you where you need to be, etc.. but fuck man, I'd much rather roll the BMW or Lexus, and its not because of the name (although that doesn't hurt). The cars drive better, have nicer features, etc.

Proving my point sir. Your concerns were that women would notice them and that other people owning them validates them as cool.

PWNED by consumer culture.

Wow, consumer culture has really warped you. I am glad you can tell me what I sound like...but...um, check this:

You sound like the guy saying he is over paying for..............wait for it......here it comes..............ok ready?...........pants.

And why are you over paying for them? Are they better made? Superior tailoring? Custom tailored? Nope. Off the shelf.

I have a closet full of $500 pants that are custom tailored and made of the finest wools. They never wrinkle, and they hang off of me like they were designed for me, because....they were. I pay for value; real value, not advertiser created value.

I am not the guy who says "buy a Corolla". I have THREE Lexus-es (GS, RX, SC) and a Morgan (PLUS 4) because I value comfort. I always say pay for quality. Anyone who knows me knows this.

You sir, are paying for something because (in your own words) girls like them and you started noticing them everywhere .

Wake up bor. You're wasting money you could use on el crappo. You even own a house yet?

Marketing genius.

Sheeple will do anything, it's a wonderful thing.

nope, no home yet.

Looked at a 300K 1 bedroom condo over the weekend... 450K for the 2 bedroom...

500 sq ft and 1100 sq ft respetively.

Gotta love San Diego.

OMFG.. I own my own business , I draw and design residential house plans here in LA.. .. do you realize what 300K would get you........ holy Shiat Batman!

That's what I'm saying. I don't think it would be worth it to me to live in a city where it's so expensive. I'm used to my parent's 3,000 sq foot house on a 4 acre lot I guess - it was appraised around 375,000 k I believe. Althought even my 600/month apartment here is almost as big as those....plus I have shag carpet :) :)

cost of living here is cheap compared to major cities.. guess it goes hand'n hand with wages ..... etc... but still.. did a plan for a couple that lived in Colorado and they informed me that their 1200 sqft house there in which they could not customize.. cost them just as much as their 3000sqft home that they had full reign on customizing here.

I'd prefer to live in a place where I am free to express my own individuality.. and be able to afford to. My salary is Shit no doubt but I live comfortable (at my standards). I am sure if I upped and moved my business to a larger city I could triple my income but really is it worth it.. esp when the cost of living is so damn high.

the jeans are well worth the price....the cut, the materials, the quaity......i love it when people knock something they know JACK SHIT about......some of you really have a knack for demonstrating to the world how ignorant you are.

Is that the price to make them in China? The cost of shipping? or the marketing? The cost of comparable stuff?

Or the more amorphous "I look and feel cool and people notice me" that marketers have strived so hard to create?

How did you determine value here? Or is it too hard to say you were PWNED by consumer culture? At least Lestat was honest...he came out and said he got them because girls he dated talked about them and he started seeing them everywhere. What's your rationale?

I think you mis read my post slightly.

When I bought them, I had no clue what brand they were, I tried on 6 pairs and went with the one that looked and felt the best.

After the fact I find out they are uber trendy and what not.

I would say they are the highest quality jeans i've ever had. Much different then the cheapos I used to wear.. very soft, hand stiched..

Paper Denim and Cloth is made in the USA, the denim itself comes from Italy.

you of all people should understand why expensive things cost so much.....

it's why everything else is expensive, design, quality, etc etc, and demand.

i like em, because i tried them on, and i like the way they fit on my ass and the rest of me. I like having good jeans, because that is what I wear when i am out of my house 90% of the time. same reason you buy $500 pants.

if i really wanted to impress someone, i'd go but a pair of D&G jeans for some outlandish price and walk around making sure everyone could see the label.....i'm sure everyone would be really impressed.

if i could get these jeans for 50 bucks at abercrombie and fitch or something, believe me i would. and believe me, you won't find em for that much.

this is like asking why do i pay 30 or 40 bucks for a case of beer....maybe to some people, there's no difference between that and a case of coors light, but to me there is.

obviously they hold no value for you....so.....don't buy em. :D

Dont Lexus and Corolla roll off the same assembly lines at Toyota?

You dont have to pay more for american over made in china, you can pay low wage to chinese immigrants in NY sweatshops with illegal chinese immigrants.

As for me I spend money on all sorts of wasteful things, I dont pay much attention to it. If Id like an article of clothing that fit well and I was comfortable with then no probs that Id buy it on the spot. That may sound silly but I make far more money at work than I would searching for clothes to save 20-30 bucks or whatever amount my time is worth far more, same with yardwork and housecleaning. So I just prefer to go for the simple to find clothes with excellent service people to help me find what I need and although it may be more expensive to pay for the service and the clothes, I prefer not to spend my off time searching for bargains. I dont pay attention to trendiness though and the places that the service people know all that anyhow, I forget the second I walk out the store. Id rather spend my free time on things I enjoy.

Never heard of the paper jeans though.
