You shouldn't tell people false statements like this.
There are possible side effects.
Ephedrine: beta-1 and beta-2 agonist......causes CNS (central nervous system) stimulation which can cause increased heart rate, and increased blood pressure. these effects are usually mild and transient (short-lived) unless underlying medical conditions exist. can also cause irritation/swelling of the prostate and MAY have detritmental effects on the adrenal glands if used for extended periods of time. side effects that are more bothersome than dangerous are the jittery and spaced out feelings that ephedrine can cause. some people don't mind these though. stongest of the OTC stimulants.
Caffeine: potentiates ephedrines effects making them longer lasting. can itself, in people sensitive to stimulants, cause elevations in blood pressure and heart rate, although much more mild than that of ephedrine, and not very likely. biggest concern with heart rate and blood pressure is when ephedrine is used in combination with caffeine, which it should be for fat burning purposes. in healthy individuals who follow dosing directions, there shouldn't be any harmful side effects (but they are possible - remember that).
Green Tea extract: very safe with many health benefits - too many to list. search for them if you are interested.
Yohimbine: alpha-2 antagonist - CNS stimulant. in lower doses can actually lower blood pressure due to it's vasodilating effects - vasodilation is why it is helpful for some in getting erections. at higher dosages, can also cause elevated heart rate and blood pressure due to the prevention of the breakdown of neurotransmitter norepinephrine. unlikely to cause any serious side effects when used alone in healthy individuals at recommended dosages, but when combined with ephedrine and caffiene, the combination of the three can be too much CNS stimulation for some to tolerate, and the potential for cardiovascular side effects increases. i am not 100% clear on why combination of ephedrine and yohimbine isnt recommended, while yohimbine is always used in fat burners containing norephedrine in, but it has to do with which receptors are stimulated.
Synephrine: alpha-1 agonist - CNS stimulant with vasoconstricting effects. cause lead to increased blood pressure due to constriction of the arteries....although these effects seem to be very mild. not as well studied as ephedrine, so safety / potentional for side effects is not as well documented as for ephedrine.
Norephedrine: alpha-1 (primarily) and beta-2 agonist.....see side effects of ephedrine and synephrine....said to be safer than ephedrine. in my experience, definitely less stimulating - doesnt make my heart race like ephedrine does. also, better appetite suppressant and fat burner than synephrine....IMO. still potentially dangerous if used incorrectly or health problems already exist. banned by the FDA for supposedly increasing the risk of hemorhagic stroke (studies seem somewhat questionable). combined with yohimbine and caffeine in fat burners.
Other side effects of CNS stimulants: increased energy and alterness (good effects), but in some cases too much stimulation results in jitters as mentioned above. sleeplessness can occur if taken too late in the day.
The possibility of heart palpitaions, anxiety, heart attack, and stroke do exist, although not to near the extent that the media says. If you are healthy and follow the recommended dosages, you SHOULD be ok. But remember, everyone is different, and not everyone tolerates stimulants well. Assess tolerance properly. Increase water intake (2 gallons daily) to make up for the increased fluid loss due to increased sweating. And always use stimulants responsibly.
If you do some reading up on alpha and beta receptors agonism and antagonism, you will have a better understanding of what these things do to your body. it will help you understand both why they work to burn fat, but also why they can be dangerous if not used properly.
in my opinion, best fat burner i've ever used - NYC, which to my understanding is no longer available.
i think i covered most of it, and hope i didn't mix anything up. if something is wrong, please correct me.
