Outback Steakhouse Sucks

Does anyone else think that Outback Steakhouse sucks? I've only eaten there 3 times and all 3 times they screwed up my steak. The first time I went it was really over cooked, and I asked for medium well. This steak was so hard my knife could not even cut through it! The second time half of the steak was okay, but the other half was over cooked. The last time I went(last night) I asked for a porter house steak I believe it's called. This was my first time getting this kind of steak and I asked for it to be cooked medium well I think. Anyway, they bring out the steak and I'll be darned if it didn't look like it was cooked at all. I took a bite into it and talk about nasty. It was extremely chewy and did not taste anything like a steak. I asked my friend that I was with and he told me that that type of steak was a very rare type of cooked steak. So I let him take a bite out of it. He immediately spit it out and said that it was not cooked. I called the waitress over and she told me that that particular steak they did not cook, they just warmed it up. So I was like, uh, could you possibly cook it a little for me, I prefer my steak to be cooked not raw. So the bitch gives me an additude and brings it back to be cooked some more. When she brought it back it was all burnt looking. Of course, again my knife would not cut through it. It was now overcooked. I asked her what the hell they did to it and she was like"Oh now what, it's not cooked enough for you!". Stupid bitch, we left shortly after and I didn't pay shit for it, I just walked out. That's the last time I ever go there.

thats great,I would have split also, one thing I cant stand is the attitude when your food isnt right and you ask nicely for it to be corrected. you fucking pay for it so fuck them

Maybe you shouldn't order the steak charred then. Cooks hate cooking steaks over medium simply b/c the steak turns to shit after medium and most of the people bitch about it no matter what. Why anyone would order a steak that over cooked is beyond me. You're cooking all the flavor and nutrients out. Plus I'm sure you have to eat it with steak sauce. Real steak lovers would not dare put steak sauce on a steak. If they have to, that means it's a shit steak. Medium rare and under is the only way to go.

the outback special is good for the money. It's like a sore dick, you can't beat it.

I hear you on that. the special is cheap, steak is always right for me, salad, and the bread is fantastic

I've always had good luck at the Outback by my place.

Now, if you want to talk about shitty steaks, one word: Sizzler.

one thing that some poeple don't like about outback is they cook their steaks a little differently than your normal steakhouse. anything over medium is bound to be overcooked. and if you order medium you're pushing your luck. I always get medium rare, and one day I ordered my steak medium and it was over cooked. of course I ate it as opposed to sending it back. I still have some friends in the restaurant business, and I've heard stories of food sent back into the kitchen. But that's for a different thread.

If you can't eat steak that's at least very pink in the middle with some blood here and there, you are not a steak eater.

Plus, 3 strikes your out. Try another place. Fortunetely for me I live near Kansas City, so I got all the bbq and steakhouses one could ask for. Plus I cook them pretty well myself also, often as good or better than a lot of the so-called steakhouses.

In my opinion there is no point in eating a decent or half decent piece of steak if you have it cooked anything above medium.

Sorry to hear about your experience Digi. All the Outbacks I've gone to have made my steaks perfectly (I get my steak cooked medium) Maybe it's just that resteraunt in particular.

Either way, I would have spoken to the manager and/or write a letter. Getting an overcooked steak is one thing, getting some horrible waitress with an attitude is another..

shit i love outback.....was just there last weekend....got prime rib medium rare :P , and the extra 1/2 lb of crab leg added on to that and they didn't charge me for them.

I eat there like once a month.... but every weekend when im bulking. I can't get enough of their baked potatoes, ceasar salads, and steaks. Oh and those jumbo coconut shrimp... mad good

The gf and I love the Alice Springs Chicken. I'm not a big steak guy.

i have always had a BLAST everytime i go there. i have prolly been 30 times at least and i love. my food as always been fantastic without ever a problem. all the wait staff are gorgeous and super nice. i know about half of them from school so i usually get the hook up when i go there. nothing beats a free rack of ribs!!

I love the Outback. My girlfriend loves it, it's probably one of our favorite places to eat. Yes,....those cheesefries are are awesome, and that "bloomin' onion" is good too.

If you want steak well prepared, you should get a Zagat Survey for your area to find recomendations. Chains like the Outback Steakhouse will be variable from staff to staff. Generally you need to go somewhere that people do culinary as a career option and not as an embittered fallback job.

WHAT HE SAID ^

I thought it might be the Outback you went to that has a problem
but honestly I have been to dozens and it's always good for me.
I also rarely eat steak and usually order the Mahi lightly seasoned
with sweet potato, side salad with honey mustard and a 2 for 1 killians red beer.

If you order a steak cooked more than Medium, expect it not to be very juicy or tender. Especially the top sirloin they use as the outback special.

Try a Rib Eye if you must have it cooked med-well or more, as it has more fat marbling and will handle the extra cooking and still be juicy.

Best dinner side salad with the best croutons and honey mustard dressing.

Always enjoy going to Outback.. Get their kookburro wings, and the outback special with salad and baked potatoe. Don't forget the bread that they give you. All for a little over $20.

Usually during the summer, i'll buy some steaks at Costco and grill them myself. Alot cheaper and about $6/steak. Once in awhile will get the tbones/porterhouses on sale at Giant/Safeway.

Just went there Friday with the wife. Had shrimp on the barbie, garlic mashed potatos & a 14 oz rib eye. We don't go there too often but I have to admit, that was some of the best steak I've had in a while.

I know what you mean though about the server copping an attitude. That would piss me off too.

I think it is a awesome restaurant. The best bloody marys period. The bloomin onion is killer the best anywhere. And the service is good too. Outback rocks. I think you must be in a town that has a crappy manager.

I try to go to Outback once a week. I get the Bushman Shrooms as an appetizer and then go for the special...medium rare. Wash it down with an ice cold draft of Bud Light. I love that place.

Outback isn't much better then Denny's as far as restaurants go.. everything is frozen before its cooked.

Outbacks are all individually owned and operated, so you should just get the manager, talk to him, if he wants your business and you respect him when talking to him then he should take care of it for you.
