I had more respect for him as a Libertarian though I believe it was futile.

I can see why someone would be a Republican....their are virtous ideas in Republicanism. But to becoem a Republican under the leadership of the Bushbarians???

I wouldn't say that.

The democrats have some idiotic ideas as well. In fact this whole distinction between democrats and republicans is way played out. People on each side act like they are the only side that "sees the light" and like to generalize about the other side.

The point is, as T-Boy alluded to, is that there are good ideas on both sides of the political spectrum. Take the issue of partial birth abortions, as an example. The way some of these posts go you would almost believe that everyone on the democratic side voted against the ban, and everyone on the republican side voted for it.

Yesterday while waiting for an interview with a company that does fund-raising I was reading the voting records of the various politicians on this issue. Some democrats for it, and some republicans voted against it.
