OTC medication to stop swelling?

Greetings brothers, just had gyno surger a couple days ago... Doc used a local anesthesia, was in and out of his O.R. in less than a half hour. Everything went to plan, except now I have major swelling in that area (worse than when I had the gyno). Wondering if you all know about any over the counter med that could help bring down the swelling... Many many thanks, deify

Aspirin is good with swelling, but I'm not really sure it may help with the type of swelling you may have.

ibuprofen is usually what is told to take - that or nasproxin (aleve)

Be careful it's not a Hemotoma. Do you have drains in ? I had my surgery about 3 weeks ago. About 2 hours after the surgery I noticed my left side swelled up huge and I figured it was normal. When the dressings came off I had a giant bruised lump there that turned out to be a Hemotoma. I had it minor on my right side as well. I went in to see my surgeon and he drained 70cc from my right side and 40cc from my left. I have since been twice and he's got about another 80+cc of old blood from the left side with still more to go. My right side is fully drained and looks ALOT better then before the surgery but still has some minor swelling.

if you just need something for inflamation, take 2 (two) aleve (naproxen sodium)

it equals around 500 or 550 mg and thats a prescription strength, But make sure you eat some yogurt or have something on your stomach or you might get the shits

its really not hard to get a script for anti inflammatory drugs, docs are pretty loose about them
