organic garden pics (for blueta2 or anyone else that's interested)

Nice work Stilleto. My wife and I do organic gardening too. We have 8 6' square raised beds for vegies and herbs with one mounded for strawberries as well as blueberries and raspberries on the yard's borders. Semi-dwarf apples, pears, cherries, and peaches ( 2 of each) were put in this year on a section that I cleared in late winter/ early spring. We compost out behind the shed and get manure from a local horse stable. I'm turning into a country boy. Bad thing is the raised beds are made from old 4x4 fence posts that used to surround the whole yard. They were treated about 10 or so years ago before I owned the house. I plan to rebuild with cement block or stone but these things take time.

And no weed lestat but I could have a long talk about hydroponics with you. :)

home grown tomatoes are so much better than the store bought ones. Once you have them fresh from a garden, the ones in the store seem terrible.

the majority of store bought tomatoes are actually genetically altered.
I just discovered this through my naturopath course.
Our food supply is so tainted

yup, we compost too.
We have plenty of room for larger beds, but I just don't have the time to tend to more. Next year i want to grow onions and snap peas, and more pepper plants than i planted this year.

you bastards, Stilleto and I are old friends here, but rarely talk (its implied we like each other). Who is the dingbat who thinks we are a couple?

It is true however, I love blueberries, strawberries, bee pollen and laying around 1/2 nakid, all that is true.

LMAO, pull the thong outchoass, nobody's making any such accusations, she HAS a couple, and your not in it.....

<<< non-dingbat, now CW, that's another story, he may have gotten hit in the head with a kickball this weekend....

Stilleto, please pick up the book "lasagna gardening." You will LOVE IT! TRUST ME! When I had room to garden, I did this and the results were AMAZING

I noticed the nails, but mine look exactly the same.
Themz is working hands/nails

waitttt, I'm serious, they are very pretty. Can't believe you call them dirty, mine look like I've been digging through mounds of manure.

I started by building 4 beds for my wife but as soon as she started planting she wanted more. I put in the extra 4 since I had the posts and loam ( or loom as we way in New England) is cheap. Susan and my daughters spend a lot of time in the garden.

My next yard project is a 14x11 fish pond with waterfall and surrounding butterfly and hummingbird garden with things like buddleia, asclepias, monarda, echinacea etc. After that is will be the gazebo shade garden. We have 2.5 acres abutting 100+ acre conservation land. I am slowly minimizing lawn and maximizing garden.

If you ever get East coast, ping me. My wife loves to show off her garden.
