Optimum Whey

I use Optimum Whey protein and I recently added L-Glutamine to my diet. After reading the Optimum label carefully, I noticed that it has some glutamine in it too, approx 3.8 grams of "Glutamine and precursors". Now considering the average dose of Glutamine per day, should I be taking the additional Glutamine?
P.S. I usally have 4-6 drinks/day (protein that is) I weigh in @ 240 and 6'1" and lift for 2hrs/day 6days/wk

well if your lifting that much consume a lot more glutamine.....your a big guy too.....if all 6 days are heavy or involve compund movements...your overtraining

I think you should probably cut back on your workouts, 6 days at 2 hours each is so long, when do you give your body a chance to recover? As for glutamine I think its one of those scam supplements, it might give you a slight benefit, but you are better off spending your money on protein or creatine, I also drink tons of Optimum Whey and 4 grams per dose should be enough, you are getting 16 to 24 grams of glutamine a day which should be enough. I'm sure others on this board will disagree with me, but that's my advice, based on what I've learned so far.

2 hours a day is too long. Burnout and poor recovery can set in. You need adequate recovery for muscle building. Really, you should spend no longer than 45-60 minutes in the gym. If you split the routine in two per day, then about 40 minutes each. Personally, I would get a 4-5 routine with one day rest and start over.

with 4-6 shakes a day you are probably getting enough glutimine, wspecially if you use like 2 scoops each time.
4-6 a day? i would miss real food:fro:

It takes me 2-2.5 hours a day to complete the workout, including shower time, putting weights on, taking weights off, etc.

I use the Pro-Complex of the same company (much better IMO).

You should probably go ahead and add 3g of the L-glut with the shake. My research suggests 20g is really the max, but max you should.
