Opinions on Punishments for Teenagers

I have a teenager and I have heard others here have one so I thought it would be interesting to see what punishments you are giong to impliment for certain offenses that your child may commit. Here are the offenses by number please put a number by the punishment for the crime. I will go first to show less bright people how to do it.
1. Lying
2. Skipping school
3. Caught drunk or drinking
4. Caught with weed
5 Sneaking out the car
6 Fighting in school(your kid started it)
7. Hard drugs
8. Caught having sex. please state if you have a girl or a boy(want to see if the punishments differ)
9. Backtalking
Well there they are. Also if you saying grounded say what the ground entails.
Ok here I go.
1. ground 2 days(no phone, not tv or going anywhere)
2. Ground 1 week(Same as above)
3 Ground 2 weeks
4. Ground 2 weeks
5. Ground 1 week
6. Ground 1 week
7 Ground a month(possible time off for good behavior
8 Ground a month(possible time off for good behavior if still alive)
9 ground 2 days
Ok what about ya'll? Many of us have done all those thing when we were growing up now as adults we have to deal with disciplining our kids. I swear if teenagers came first people wouldn't have kids.

Find out what they really like to do(this changes as they grow up)
TV, Video Game, Internet, Driving, and take that away from them.
Right now, Swimming in the pool is high on the "I DON"T WANT TO LOSE THAT" list for my kid at 12.
I had a friend who's mom would send him to his room, and to make sure he had no fun would actually go out to the garage and turn off the elec. breaker to his Bedroom.. LOL
Whatever you do, be sure to impress on them that if it is threatened it will happen 100%.
Nothing worse than Idle threats on punishment.
We have threatened to leave a Resturant and one of us snatches her out to the car while the other eats and then we trade.
You only have to do this one time...

About 15 hundred of em at school.........other than that I only have a million and one cousins, nieces and nephews.

Most people that I know that use dope are young and experimenting. They are not hardcore users. I think the sharp shock would do them good.
On the other hand anybody who is using hard drugs is unlikely IMO to be persuaded that they are wrong by turning them in. You need something stronger. Seeing people who are users of hard drugs can be totally shocking.........what they will do to feed the habit etc.
It might sound like I would be going easy when it comes to hard drugs but I dont see that as how it is. I wonder if all of this made sense

Oh yeah, the owner is a judge.
Then of course one of the teen's friends had to call and threaten the owner. So that just made everything better.

To be serious I would just like to say that anyone who still has to worry about watching their kids past maybe the first couple years of high school has already failed as a parent. After that they really should understand why they will only be punishing themselves by doing that shit.

Following the rules to the thread makes me bright which you didn't do either.
So if you had a 17 year old son sitting on the couch shooting heroin when you got home from work you wouldn't punish him some how?

If they start doing that shit while very young you should punish them and teach them why it is a bad idea (see Imnotdutch’s post) but if they are still that stupid at 17 then you failed.

After all, stupid children drink and drive. Stupid children have reckless unprotected sex. Stupid children do drugs to blend in or to run from their problems.
Of course many people live their whole lives as nothing more than stupid children. What I am trying to say is that if you did your job as a father your children will mentally be adults in many ways before they are even fully grown physically.
