opening of the acromium?

In the bench press post by Antioch full retraction of the scapula is stated to limit opening of the acromium. I am interested in what this means (opening of the acromium).

I am not sure if the line was in there or not. I dont know why I ended up getting the two names confused.

But, cant someone explain this "limiting the opening of the acromium" to me? some one must know!!!!
