I have searched and didn't find. Once you have opened say a vial of test and peirced it with a syringe, what would be the shelf life on the remaining contents of the vial? Thanks! :)

This is a vial with a rubber seal and not an breakaway AMP, correct?

You have really got to start reading my posts better ;) :)

I'm going to knock you out! Now post up your pics again goddammit!

Considering it's just a tiny hole in the rubber (from the needle), I wouldn't think the shelf life would change at all. Most 'sealed' vials, just have a bit of aluminum covering the top piece of the rubber. Removing that shouldn't change it either.

BrickGirl -

assuming you used perfectly aseptic technique, there should be no change in the posted expiry of the vial.

That said, since you likely injected air to make drawing up easier, there might be a slight change in expiry date... I'd say a safe bet would be no longer than 4 to 6 months post-puncture, as long as the vial's rubber stopper is still generally intact (meaning airtight; it doesn't matter if some of the top has chipped off, as long as there's an airtight seal).
