one more dextrose question

i've read different approaches on when to take this after the workout. some have said w/in the first half hour, then have a protein shake afterwards. some mix it with their shake. some sip on this shit for an hour or more, etc. i'm just looking to make the use of this post workout "window of opportunity" for growth. so when do you usually take this shit? also, can you give me some mixer ideas for it? like, what do you mix this shit with?

I drink my dextrose shake right after my workout. This shake includes: Dextrose, Creatine and Crystal lite (flavoring purposes only). This shake will replenish your muscle glycogen as well as spike your insulin to allow other nutri to feed your muscles.

30-45min later, I will drink a whey protein shake. The only two ingredients are whey protein and water. Whey is a fastly absorbed protein and is ideal for "feeding" the muscles after a workout.
 
i just take 75 grams dextrose, 50 grams whey postworkout right when i get home from my workout, mix with water in a blender and i gulp it down in like 10 seconds. i couldnt see sipping it for over an hour, dextrose is a terrible carb choice, except postworkout, and it is good so you can create an insulin spike to shuttle the protein where it needs to go, if you sip it over an hour, you whey would already be absorbing but not without the insulin spike it needs.
 
How much dextrose are you suppose to mix with creatine? 75 grams seem quite a lot. I'm not that big of a guy, I'm 5'10 155lbs. how much should I take?
 
.6 to .8 grams per LBM post workout is typical. I don't use Dextrose for the entire carb replinishment but I use about .4 grams of dextrose per lb and throw in some lower GI to sustain the energy for protein synthesis for hours after. At 155 you should be at at least 90 grams of carbs post workout and as high as 120 would be reasonable.
