One arm DB laterals

Anybody do these with a 90 degree bend in the arm? I find I can heave up more weight doing them this way and also seem to have more control without the long 'lever effect' of straight arms.

Any reasons not to do em?
 
I do em and agree that there is more control. I just started them. I have crazy small delts so I will try anything to make them bigger.
 
Do you guys do them leaning on something or what? I just tried these (one arm) for the first time last week and I liked them. I was just free-standing though, and my abs (obliques) got hit hard too. If I start going up in weight too much, though, I'm afraid my abs/balance could limit them some.
 
It does hit the obliques doesn't it? Kind of an extra benefit I guess.

I do them sitting down and am not using super heavy weights. Only 25 lbs. If I get strong enough to be able to lift enough weight to pull me over I will definitely feel like I've accomplished something!
