As we were approaching the door of my gym, my training partner got really nervous. I asked what is going on. He was trembling with anger and pointing at a van turning the street.

I looked at the driver of the van. It was Igor.

Igor was an A+ student in high school. Fluent in Italian, Spanish, Russian, English and other really weird languages. Igor appeared in every picture in the yearbook... tennis team.... soccer team.... AP English.. AP Math..... Law.....Independent Research... Was a National AP Scholar.... he was everything. He was 6'6, with a build of a seasoned weightlifter. Girls longed for him, guys were envious of him. He was mine and my training partner's friend.

Once on the bus, the three of us (as usual) were going home. Suddenly a guy came up, who knew Igor, and started dissing him. He was dissing his haircut, his clothing, and his speech. He told Igor that Igor will never get to good college, will never have a career, will never become an accomplished person.

Since that moment, Igor changed. He never had less than 99.5 on his report card. He left me and my friend in the dust, he didn't think we were worthy of his intellect. He got into Rochester University. A political science major.

I kept in touch with him over Internet. He had a lot of pretty girls in college, started doing drugs, was working, studying, and partying at the same time.

I was jealous. Me and my friend went to a technolgoical university void of girls and partying, and the quality of the school was much worse than Rochester University.

Igor abused us over the Internet. He continously brought up how me and my friend were losers and were never to amount to anything. We stopped talking.

At the driving seat, there was Igor. Igor looked like a skinny concentration camp survivor. He was driving a car I would never even buy for $200. I am guessing he graduated.

He briefly looked at us, scoffed, and sped up into nowhere.

My training partner was so mad, he repped 225 for 6, where he couldnt even get 3 before. He was running around the gym bumping into people and screaming really loud.

I guess he is still jealous of Igor's accomplishments. Why else would he devote so much thought and energy just of thinking about him.

Igor was a smart man. Someone who will get far in life. For some reason... that depressed me as well.

This story reminds me of a joke I once heard...

A beautiful woman walks into a bar and sits down. At the end of the bar she notices the Hunch Back or Notre Dame sitting all by himself sobbing. So the young lady walks over and sits down next to him and asks whats wrong. The hunch back procedes to cry his eyes out about how he is so ugly that he will probably never be able to experience the ways of a woman. So, after a few drinks the young lady begins to feel really bad for the guy and decides to invite him back to her place for a little "charity work". So they get there and he bends her over the couch and starts going to town, but after about 2 minutes the young lady barfs all over the place. The hunch back says "did you just vomit?!!" the yound lady replied "Yes, I did and I'm sorry. It's just that you are so repulsive!!! " so the Hunch Back says "Whew! ok, for a moment there I thought my hump popped again"

You and mainly your friend have to let go of these feelings. Subconsciously they will hinder you.
