I am so damn baked, fried, stoned, torched, blazed, pie eyed, high, blasted, I am seriously on a new level here. It seems that I am weightless and my body has a warm fuzzy blanked over it. Walking to my room from outside was the trippiest, most paraniod walk. My flip flips (haha tony) were smacking so loudly and I wanted to get to my room quickly so I went faster and faster, sounded like a horse canter, trot, glalup, or whatever,

good stuff

lol @ "flip flips"

but YG, my mom died of lung cancer b/c of that crap. She was only 58. It spread all over her body and hurt so badly that you couldn't touch her or she would moan in pain.

Not a nice way to go, IMO.

Sorry to hear that. Actually there is not ONE scientific study that shows marijuana to be the DIRECT cause of cancer, ever.

Yeah, that is what the cigarette people argued too. It is like smoking completely unfiltered cigarettes. I read somewhere that smoking a joint was the health equivalent of smoking 14 cigarettes.

Frankly, I could care less about any moral thing about it. My deal is that I saw my mom suffer a horrendous death because of it. It ruined her life.

Heather, you are going on mear propaganda the government has cast over you, there are PLENTY of studies that show marijuana causes NO long term harm.

you don't smoke a pack of joints a day though. Besides if your really concerned about your lungs, effin use a bubbler or vaporizer....

Yeah, well post em up. Then, I will send you some pics of my beautiful mom and the after effects of the lung cancer she got from smoking it. Bald from chemo, in diapers, in excruciating pain for a daily buzz. I'm sure if she could do it all over again now, she would have liked to have met her grandchildren. Her first was born 4 months after she died.

Not worth it.

yeah, she used to smoke daily. That is what caused the lung cancer. It spread to her bones, her blood, her brain, etc. She was eaten alive by it. I watched a 58 year old mom who looked like she was only 40, slip away in a period of a few months. It ravaged her. YOu have no idea the pain.

Put that shit away.

I just saw a Dr. give a talk that said there are no known cases of lung cancer directly attributed to marijunana smoking. No offense but I am pretty sure the cigs gave your mom cancer, not any bud. Think about it, one is packed full of chemicals, the other is burning a plant straight from the ground, MAYBE some insecticide but likely not. People burn and breath incense all the time, no deaths attributed to it. Same with camp fires.

ummmmm....tobacco is a plant directly from the ground, too.

secondly, there are at least filters on cigs.

Thirdly, it is almost impossible to definitively prove the cause of cancer. So, some people will argue the same thing that you are arguing. The cigarette companies argued that very argument for years.

When you watch someone in as much pain as she was in and you know her habits like I know my mom's habits, I have no doubt as to what caused the cancer. Will she go down as a documented case of marijuana causing lung cancer. No, no one really gets to the bottom of it or can make a 100% correlation of what caused it.

Same thing with asbestos. Took forever to actually be able to sue. People defended with that same damn argument for YEARS

then why are you saying it did? Smarter than the doctors are you?

do what you like. when you get lung cancer just think back and remember, "oh yeah, heather warned me this could happen."

600 chemicals added to tobacco filtered cigarettes

2 chemicals organically produced in Marijuana

There are lots of cigarette smokers and lots of them with cancer.

there are lots of pot smokers, and not many of them with lung cancer. I am sure there are official stats that could be dug up.

It sucks your mom died the way she did, same shit went down with my grandma. Terrible. I do believe that if there was a correlation between weed and lung cancer to be made, it would have been publicized non stop by the millions of anti drug campaigns out there that are nicely funded.

If I said my uncle died of a bad liver due to alcohol abuse, but he only drank 1 glass of wine before bed, would it be unfair for me not to mention the fact that he killed a 12 pack on the way to work every morning?

DUH. They wont correlate it to cigs in cases of cig smokers either. They just don't do it. That is why the initial cigarette plaintiffs had such a hard time at first.

I really don't care. Be an idiot and ruin your body if you like.

Well I know one pot smoker who died a death you wouldn't have put a dog through.

Her doctors agreed with me about what probably caused the cancer.

does that get put down in stats anywhere? No. It does not.

Seriously, I don't care. Smoke yourselves to death then. If you feel the risk/reward is appropriate go ahead and pollute yourselves.

No purpose in it but a few giggles and you could DIE. Doesn't seem worth it to me.

when you drive a car you put yourself at risk, when you walk down steps you put yourself at risk, when you eat processed foods you put yourself at risk, smoking marijuana puts yourself at risk

i'm pretty high right now

Me too..

and to heather whom says there is no purpose to marijuana other then a few giggles..

well it's especially nice for when you work out really hard, because it completely takes all the pain afterwards.

If you're juicing, it really helps you not rip everyones head off, as it calms you down, it also helps promote a healthy appetite.

there are also several medical benefits to taking marijuana hence why it is perscribed to those lucky few.. (not saying all of them are lucky)

marijuana is also a nice pre workout treat, it makes a person very focused when lifting weights giving you an extra edge at times.

I'm also assuming that you enjoy music and art.. because marijuana along with alot of other drugs has giving our society alot of wonderful and beautiful things.. Eg : Tom Petty, Snoop Dogg, Dr.Dre

meh.

While I'm pro-medicinal use, I don't think that meets the standard, nor do I buy the "art would die as we know it" argument either. Plenty of talented people do just fine without it.

The irony with my mom was that it was the best medicine for the symptoms of the cancer, but it caused the cancer.

I'm sorry for what happened to your mother. =(

though in other cases it has been essential to keeping patients healthy.

also I didn't say the arts would die, I just said it's helped out, ALOT. :)

doesn't make sense to me either, especially when there has been synthetic oral THC pills you can take. THC doesn't have to be smoked to get the overall effect.

that isn't difficult to understand. She had cancer. Cancer patients benefit greatly from the increased appetite and pain relief.

So, it was ironic in the end that her poison became the only relief.

After a while, she couldn't do that either. Then, it was just straight morphine. :worried:

but for recreational use, I am opposed. I don't care about the moral stuff. I just think it causes cancer.

I look at you totally different now

eating tomatoes can cause cancer..

going out in the sun can cause cancer..

not getting enough sun can cause cancer..

NOT eating tomatoes.. can cause cancer.. lol..

so yeah.. I'd agree that smoking marijuana can cause cancer.. but not even like a tenth of as bad as smoking is for you, not even close.

lol...have at it kiddo.

look at me different b/c I don't applaud a young boy giving himself cancer? so be it.
