This is one great movie. We watched it last night. Really keeps you on the edge. Some of the acting isn't that great, but over all it's great.
The ending ....the ending !!!!! The Ending ....

On a sidenote, couldn't the two subjects/experimentees possibly have heard the Mastermind's heartbeat? I mean the basement room must produce echoeing effect quite alot I would have imagined.

Thats a good thought, my partner said something like that too. He said, since one was a Dr....couldn't he be able to see the guy breathing?

I thought the idea was decent, flawed but decent. The movie as a whole was a complete mess. Terrible script and acting. When it came time for the twist ending...I didn't even care.

The "photographer" was the screenwriter for the movie. The director was a young Asian guy. They shot the whole movie in 18days.

I thought it was pretty good for a first time full fledged movie, but i like twisted movies....

Saw was a big disappointment. Should have been really cool, needed to show more torture seens and gore and the acting was lame.

Yeah, I thought it was a good movie too...the ending really caught me by surprise. Acting wasn't the greatest, but it was still an entertaining film.

I have to agree with most of the other posts here - it was a good storyline, with a good twist at the end. On the other hand, the acting sucked ass, and it's too easy to pigeon hole the credibility of the ending. One other minor complaint I had was the tendency to show parts of flashback scenes then repeat them a couple more times when showing larger parts of that scene.

Either way, it's still worth watching.

I did appreciate the surprise at the end because I like movies that I can't predict. However, some of the plot leading up to it was weak and the acting seemed kinda B-movie-ish. I gave it a 5.5 of 10.

it was ok until 3/4 of the way through. carey elwes was supposed to be this smart doctor and when he couldn't reach the phone why didn't he remove an article of clothing to pull it to him. he even told the other guy to do the same when he couldn't reach something. plus the acting was horrible. that was danny glovers best performance since predator 2. SAW SUCKED ONCE I REALLY THINK ABOUT IT.
