LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- A tiger attacked magician Roy Horn of the duo "Siegfried & Roy" at his throat during a Friday night performance at The Mirage hotel-casino, authorities said.

Horn was taken to University Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, said hospital spokeswoman Cheryl Persinger.

Firefighters were called to the hotel-casino about 8:45 p.m. and found Horn had been attacked, said Clark County Fire spokesman Bob Leinbach.

The illusionists, who put on one of the most well-known and expensive Las Vegas shows with their signature white tigers and lions, signed a lifetime contract with the Mirage in 2001.

Fishbachler, 64, and 59-year-old Horn have performed together in Las Vegas for more than 30 years. They opened at the Mirage hotel-casino in February 1990.

Very sad...I have seen those beautiful white tigers at the Mirage Hotel 2 years ago and they are just breathtaking ..

Once again this freak accident proves that those tigers are still wild and their instinct can't never be tamed.

Hope that ROY would be OK...

Ya really!! It's basic cause & effect really. Cause he fucked with a tiger, he was effectively mauled. Like you said bro...the fuck did he expect??? The fact that people are so mortified only shows how genuinely dumb people realy are. The Tiger was doing what a Tiger does. If people want to be surpised about something, be surprised it took so long before it happened. I hope the guy is ok, although it appears by the article that his injuries are quite serious, however I am FAR from shocked.

They wont kill the tiger. Those tigers were part of the family and they were treated like their kids.

I am sure that ROY is not even pisssed off at the tiger as he perfectly was aware at the danger he was exposing to.

They might not have a say in it either way bro. I know that in certain areas of the USA(this applies to gaming, but could apply in this case as well) the Mountain Lion is a Federally protected species(using Cougars as an example of the Law). However, it is requited by Law that if one attacks a human, it will be put down. I suppose the theory is that once an attack occurs, and the animal realizes that a human could be a food source, that there is no re-training it after that point.

They aren't saying how bad of condition the dude is really in, but if a 600 pound Tiger latrches on to your neck, you can bet it snapped like a twig bro. If he dies, the animal will surely be euthenized. If he doesn't they still might be legally required to do the same. Sad as it is.
