Old School Raves

AHHHHH, the good old days, i was there, when i speak of those days around they newbies to the party scene they just don't understand, things really were different then!!

Hehe, try 1993 and 1994, bro.

Me and a friend used to organize raves in South Florida back in 1993....I DJ'd at that time and used to play everything from Chicago house to Hard Trance to Drum'n'Bass. I even played some Rotterdam gabba, and we had a deathmetal vocalist do his thing ontop of of the 160+ bpm pounding beats. People didn't know what hit them.

Those were some crazy days, and since I was so young, it was all drug-free for us.

South Florida is was all candy wasnt it? I'm talking about Roseland Ballroom, Kliprock, The Dever, Gonzo, Jon the Dentist, Rob Devs, Commandor Tom, yaddayaddayadda. God, seems like a whole different era of my life, still love the music and the party favors, LOL.

fuck that candy raver crap, those are the kids that get beat up at factory...Stacked can attest to this...

try memorial day weekend, Vinyl friday night right to Neptunes, to CPIS, to factory, to surf club, to tempts, back to neptunes...that is fun, none of this glowstick baggy pants sucking on a pacifier nonsense ;)

Lol, yes Depp that does sound like I good time. I was 16 when I enjoyed those raver days though and now i'm into bigger and better things

all the old school wasn't about candy ravers and pacifiers and all that shit, it WAS differen then, the heat wasn't on from the cops, everyone loved each other, no one was coked out of their mind juiced up and wanting to fight everyone, it was just fun. There's no way to describe it unless you were there. I know factory and jersey and all that shit may seem like the shit now and im sure its off the hook, but its still not the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nikolai_bolkov (Dj Schmoo) and I, dabbled a lil in S. Beach at Rodz and intitiated the "rave" scene to S.W Florida. Introduced the music, before Euro Productions all they knew was, "let me ride that donkey donkey"

I bet all of you talking about candy ravers didn't even know what techno music (back then it was all called techno) in 1992.

It was new and exciting and there was no 'rave' stigma.

I totally agree, circa 1992, there was a whole freshness to the infantile scene(if you can even call it that at the time). Nothing like the good ol' days....party all night and into the morning sometimes. Now I'm older and wiser, savouring different things in life now.

I thought 'Old School' was Detroit around the mid late eighties. Derrik May et. al.

LA old school scene was great...before it got mainstream. Clubs like What, Dare, Magic Wednesday's on Santa Monica Pier with Doc Martin.
