Old newspaper articles....

I have to do a research assignment and have hit a brick wall. I have been all over the web searching and am about to go blind. I have seen many of you post up questions asking for all sorts of info so I thought I may as well take a stab.

Where would I go to research very old newspaper articles?

I am looking for a violent murder that occured I am thinking circa late 1910's to early 1930's. I am not 100% sure but I believe it was a stabbing.

Would there be a specific online resource or would I have to physically go to the newspaper offices?

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Public libraries often carry these types of documents. If you have some local libraries in your area, see if they have a website that might have them online, otherwise, do it the old fashioned way

Did you call the newspaper? They usually have archives and for a modest fee will dig something up for you.

The local library might have some microfiche (sp) as well.

Thanks guys... This is really cool. Sort of like being a slueth piecing together a puzzle to solve a mystery.

(Yea, I know, I have too much free time.)

Man, if I can get all of the facts involved in this it will be really neat. Ahhhhhhhh, the facts... gotta love them facts.
