OK, let's gain some friggin weight

What's up everybody,
I'm 21, 6'3" maybe 210, but soft. I need to gain some hard rock-ass solid muscle...I have some test. enan. and prop., but I haven't been lifting seriously long enough to use it yet. Questions for y'all to help me with (if you would)- what's a good calorie level? I usually go for 6000, but I hear now that's too much. Second, do I need to eat 7 times a day, b/c that can get tough to keep up? Third, I've been training each muscle group only once a week b/c I've read so many times that's the way to go, and with no gear to help me I was worried about recovery time. Should I hit some twice a week? Any help from you guys, MOST of whom ( :) ) obviously know more than I do would be appreciated!

First things first... put the gear somewhere safe and save it for later... It's not time to use it yet... If you're on a bulking cycle, you should be shooting for around 5250 Kcal/day... If you're thinking of doing the gain LBM while shedding some bf, then you should consider something more like 3000 Kcal/day... If you need help on a diet outline shoot me an e-mail and I'll give ya a hand... Eating 6x/day should be enough for the amount of calories you're looking at consuming. As far as training goes, you're right on... Stick with that program and you'll be fine.

The only other thing you need is to get a good 7-8 hours of sleep each night and you're golden... Good luck.
 
manhood, one thing to remember on most of the advice given here, it is 'optimal'. And sometimes optimal and reality just don't mix.

Sometimes school or your job or whatever chick (who mistakenly thinks she is your g/f) makes it impossible for you to get 6-7 meals, or 8 hours sleep, or your workout.

Whatever. You make do. You persevere. I have had 8 minute workouts because I wanted to workout, but didn't have the time for a full-on workout. I decided that 8 minutes was better than 0 minutes.

And if some hottie comes over to you and winks and offers you a beer...well, you just tell your liver to buck it up 'cause you're about to get nose-deep!

Just do the best you can, but don't make excuses to not workout, just don't miss out on life.

Thanks for the encouraging words Tx, I like your outlook. The chick part's no stress, since my g/f's the best, but finding the time can be hard (8 hours sleep...I don't remember the last time). We do what we can!
