OK i got a huge problem

Last month, my water froze in this pos house im staying in, well when the pipes thawed out.....water was EVERYWHERE
I just got the fucking bill for it and its over 100 bucks......do u think i can call the water company and tell them that i had a leak and they will reimburse me?

I know ppl that work there.....so im crossing my fingers....holy shit my water bill was 25 bucks last month
and i think thats STILL high considering i only bathe here and wash dishes

Try this klu.

If you've had it fixed.
Contact the water company and tell them about what happen.
They should send you a form to fill out. Call the plumbing company that fixed it.
Fax or take it to the plumbing company, they will fill it out and send it to the water company.
Or you can go by and pick it up.

Usually the water company will adjust your bill if you do this.

Yes, you can usually get an adjustment for a leak. I've had my bill altered after my hot water tank failed before.

Usually what they do is that you still pay for the extra water you "used", but they adjust the other stuff tacked onto your water bill, like trash pickup, tax, and whatever else your municipality includes with your water utility. If your town is like mine, the actual water itself is the cheapest part of the water bill, but everything else on there is indexed to how much water you used.

If the leak is past the meter the problem is yours. If the leak is before the meter the problem is theirs.

Thats the way every state code is written.

is that $100 a typo? B/c if your pipes burst from freezing, and all it ended up costing you was $100, Id say you got off easy....
