OK Conservative Buttholes -- Whaddya think of Kerry's speech?

Ask iran. Or germany 1933.

what do you hate so much about our president? Elaborate, please.

The fact that his decisions are clearly religious based.

He wants to change the constitution so that gays can't marry
He has been noted saying he is doing gods work
Administration officials claim that his first plan was to take out Saddam once he took office which is kinda odd since Saddam hasn't done anything since the Gulf War. Seems more like a grudge that he was willing to lose American lives just to avenge his daddys assasination attempt
He has turned almost the entire world against us even moreso than before (I am willing to bet that when the US olympic team comes out in the opening ceremony, they will be boo'ed)
Just like Kerry said last night. He doesn't wear his religion on his sleeve but he does believe. I couldn't care less what religion the president believes in as long as it doesn't influence his job.

You got a copy of Als Grades?

I have shrubs and they were mediocre at best.

Besides this is Kerry vs. Bush. Not Gore.

"Gore received lower grades in his sophomore year at Harvard University than any semester recorded on Bush's transcript from Yale, and Gore earned no degrees higher than a Bachelor of Arts in Government, while Bush earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard."

Bush has an MBA from Harvard. Man I hate it when Bush's intellect is questioned. Pet peeve. Don't know about Kerry's academic record.

Anyways, so Bush and Company end up hanging the Libs with the rope they've been stringing out.

Haven't you heard? The Bush name got him through college.

I am amazed that Republicans insist on defending the intelligence of a man who cannot put a coherent sentence together on his own. Whatever Bush's academic record was 30 years ago, it's clear that he is as dumb as a doorknob when he opens his mouth these days.

Well, Kerry said yesterday that he prays that "we are on God's side". Hijacking God is a common political ploy of which both candidates are guilty.

I suppose you of course won't be supporting the Kerry Inquisition either, since he wants to be on God's side?

Or it could be that Saddam violated dozens of UN resolutions. Or it could be that as far back as the Clinton administration, both parties expressed fear about what Saddam might have.

Or, it could be that Bush has tried to establish a representative government in the Middle East as an example for other nations like iran and saudi arabia, the true terror sponsors. A democratic Iraq is a real problem for nearby dictators, and will hopefully allow their people to want a similar government.

The invasion of iraq could change the entire scope of the Middle east toward democracy.

Or maybe it was just revenge. good to see how you have thought it all through.

He has turned almost the entire world against us even moreso than before (I am willing to bet that when the US olympic team comes out in the opening ceremony, they will be boo'ed)

the rest of the world? France? greece? We might get booed at the Olympics? Who really cares? Does this bother you? tanzania thinks we suck?

yes, as long as, in Kerry;s words, "we're on god's side", right?

Iran - poor, underdeveloped and undereducated where power was taken through money and threat of power.

Germany '33 - country torn apart by loss of first world war with a very poor economy and a country demoralized by the restraints put on them by the peace accords after the a fore mentioned war. charismatic (possibly one of the best orators in the history of the world) leader rises claiming national pride and the dream that all can turn their live/country around.

this is how dictators arise. whatever course of action the President has embarked on since 9/11/01 is what it is. unfortunately there is no way to know what Bush's first term would have looked like had this not been the case. one thing we do know, however, is that since this terrible event there haven't been any successful acts of terrorism towards Americans on our soil.

Matt, I wonder where you live and how you were effected by the acts of terrorism experienced that day? Were you running for your life, or were you like the lady on CNN from South Dakota talking about being afraid, but really not having any clue what that meant. My guess is the second.

yes, there is more to the world than the United States, but ... but, when American lives are at stake we must do what is neccessary to insure the safety and strength of our country other countries be damned. if you don't believe this, feel free to renounce your citizenship (if you are American) and move.

ultimately, most nations (and history proves this, so feel free to read a history book!) respond the exact same way and put their country first.

Why do we have to lose lives to "force" eastern countries to live according to the wests standards? Do you think the muslims would have so much against us if we would have just minded our own business including Israel? If they wanna live in the dark ages, so be it. It's not our responsibility to change the world. If the people wanted to change, they would have done so.

That's fine but he didn't say that he was doing gods work which implies that he communicates with god. I seriously doubt Kerry would go on this religious conquest like Bush.

On Kerry's actual speech,

here in Australia we only got to see glimpses of it on the news.

I liked that he pledged he would not lead America into war unless he had to.

He said that America once again needed to be respected in the world, not just feared.

Sounds better than Bush's "You are either with us or against us".

With Bush's mantra he ought to bomb Switzerland next, those bloody Swiss and their bloody neutrality are a threat to the security of the USA.
