i owe money to this gym for like 5 months worth. but i stopped going 5 months ago and i forgot to cancel. plus they didnt send me any bills so i was like hey they forgot about me! and didnt pay. WRONG! i then switched adresses and im like ahaha theyll never find me. wrong again! a few weeks ago i get a bill from the collection agency for 165.00. im like whatever, ill pay later. now.. today i check my mail i get this red letter and it said collection agencys now gonna take measures and start collecting my shit. so im fucked. the thing was tho all their letters were adressed to my old place and so my old building had to transfer them over. so to them i still have my old adress. meaning this gives me sometime to hide. im frantically trying to get 165.00 together. my visa has 80 bucks left in it and my checking account has 5.00. plus i only get paid on friday. this blows.

just call the gym up and explain your situation and work something out, being as you didn't go in 5 months, I'm sure they will cut you a break on the amount owed.

contact the gym directly, go in to the accounts payable whoever that is.. offer to settle the account... have $80 cash, explain that's all you have from a visa account, and offer to make that your full payment.. right then and there..

and if all that fails........as long as you pay something on a regular basis...it won't go on credit. It's best to not avoid the situation but to talk to someone.....cry if you have to.

exactly. They (collectors) generally offer a pay off at a lesser amount than what is owed.
See the thing is if they want your monies bad enough (which it seems they do) they will settle for what ever they can get.
