So, I made the mistake of rubbing my eye yesterday after I yawned, and my contact rolled back inside my eye. No biggie, this has happened before. I just go to the restroom with some saline to fish it out from my eyelid, and put it back in.
Problem is, this time, I can't find it.
I spend the next hour or so looking around my eye, trying to rub it back down, all to no avail.
Stop at the eye doctor on the way home, go inside, and explain to the 3 women at the desk what's happened. And they start to look more freaked out than I am. One of the girls said, "at least you're not panicking." I said, why panic, this has happened before, I just can't find it this time.
So they get the doctor, and I can tell everyone's more weirded out by this than I am. The doctor looks around my eye, and HE can't find it. Uses dye, even comes after my eyelid with tweezers. Says there's a rough spot on my cornea, and that must be what I'm feeling. Puts this ointment in my eye to prevent infection and help the rough spot. Nothing like having a goopy eye, let me tell you.
I go home, take out my left contact, and put my glasses on, and go about my business, all the while feeling this weird thing in my eye.
Woke up this morning, still there, so I was a little worried. Go into the bathroom, look in my eye, and lo and behold, here's a goopy white contact lens sitting on the upper portion of my eye. I got it out of there, rinsed it off, and put it back in after letting it soak for about 10 minutes. None the worse for wear!
Just thought I'd post this story, and see how many people I could weird out.
