So what you are really saying is that you want some new bootie to bop and you have the ultimate excuse of distance and you feel like a prick breaking up with her because it's a not you but a me thing and you are feeling guilty so you need advise on how to break it to her easily to ensure your chances of possibly getting back together with said girlfriend just in case all the other babes suck in the sac.

There is no easy way to do it - period.
You might as well be honest and talk about the fear of distance and break up officially becuase if you are separated by distance and you cheat on her you will be the assshole. If you just break up and break her heart at least she can mourn and move on.

Dude, if you are miserable know, you'll be miserable later. People who are not in the situation that you are will always have the best advice, do what you think is right! Remember, everything situation ends badly, it they didn't they wouldn't end! Being close the families suck, but it will only get worse if you hesitate and prolong the enivitable.
