shit man, I started ATF squats a few weeks ago, my knees were feeling great and now after the last workout they are sore again, not really pain but a tender soreness on the knee joint specially after sitting down for a while. this f'ing sucks, any ideas???

Make sure your form is good, first and foremost. Don't let your knees cave while ascending. Remember to "spread the floor" (i.e., drive with your heels and try to push the floor apart, making sure to push your knees outward, enough so they stay vertical). Work on sitting back more, as well, if you aren't used to squatting that deep. Use a foam roller to try and roll out your glutes so you can sink into the hole better.

Those are just a bunch of ideas off the top of my head. I'm sure some of the others will be able to give you a better answer.

I'll second what Tom said, I think that's what happened to me: too soon/too heavy on ATF squats.

Basically, I had some form issues due to *I think* ankle flexibility. So my weight got shifted forward, and since I piled on too much weight I'd compensate with my knees adducting on the ascent (well that's what it felt like).

New movement and high volume/frequency can lead to overuse symptoms rather quickly. Not sure if that's the case but you need to build workload and accustom the body gradually.

I have only added 10 pounds (up to 190lbs) since I started 5 weeks ago.....I know my knees travel beyond my toes about 2/3s of the way down but I cant help, if I try to lean back more I will fall on my ass......also on the last rep I think I get tired and lean forward a lot, specually after half way up, is really tough for me to transition from below parallal to standing up, not sure why......

should i just back down the weight then?
