Actually I need to get used to staying up nights, which I am almost a pro at now, lol!, because the temps in AZ. are reaching 113 and more so they have started working nights.

The best part of my summer will begin in August...when all the tourists leave my beaches. ;) It's still warm and the currents make the water a gorgeous lagoon color.

I could never live in a cold climate.

My summer just got 1000X better with an old coworker tracking me down yesterday. I've had an ear to ear grin for almost 24 hours.


Going to be diving with some sharks again soon... :chomp:

I just started diving. I've been on about 8 dives. If I saw a shark, though, I think I would freak a little. I am scared to death and fascinated at the same time. The first few dives I kept looking all around to make sure no sharks were around. I think I watched "Jaws" one too many times as a kid. =-)

I was like that. I learned to dive in a tank full of sharks...just where I learned because of my job. The first time I went in the water, I was almost walking on water 5 seconds later. I think I used my air up in 10 minutes..lol

I used to play the JAWS theme song in my head and scream when I was underwater and I could see their shadows swimming over me.


I've never done any diving with really aggressive sharks in the ocean...just hammerheads, blacktips, white tips, nurse, bonnet in controlled conditions. By the time I left, I could stay underwater for almost 4 hours I was so relaxed.

Hammerheads are very scary in appearance. So are Tiger sharks. Funny thing. My air lasts forever. My fiances air runs out more than twice as fast as mine. I tell him it is because he smokes.

Do you work at an aquarium? I love to hang out at aquariums.

I have in the past... I know a lot of people who work at aquariums all over the US and do research. An old coworker just got a dream job in Monterey, California. Its gorgeous there...right on the ocean.

I want to go diving so bad....but I was raised in the south and I like warm water. I would love to go diving in the kelp beds out here to wach sea lions play. The water along the California coast is so cold to me. :worried:

LOL....I can't wait to find out the details and he better be working in Monterey now that I got so excited. He used to be in your neck of the woods...Charleston.

I'm thinking about heading down to Charleston after I finish my work WED.. I'm having salt water withdrawals. I need to go spend the day on the end of the pier, watch the water, walk in the waves, and just relax. :artist:
