Ode to my old computer......

It had history and character. Started with a 133? and replaced the chip with a 233? Went nuts and overloaded the IRQ addresses with attachments. The guy at the computer shop got disgusted and offered me money to leave him alone. Put in a top notch Adaptec SCSI card and CDRW and scanner. Hooked up my old Syquest too...I'll sell that cheap! Got a Hitachi 21" monitor for way too much $$$ but I love it to this day. Tried to hook up the new digital camera and fried stuff. Scanner and CDRW went out of business immediately. Added a second hard drive and became an expert at formatting and rebooting. Had dozens of programs on it and a few dirty pics. Dropped a new motherboard in it with a 450 MMX. Lots of memory back then too.

Oh the times we had. I can remember babysitting it until 3:00AM then hitting it again at 7:00AM trying to heal the poor thing. It was perpetually sick. I wound up leaving the side plates off since I tore into it so often. After downloading AOL 5 it decided it needed ten minutes to reboot so I left it on all the time.

Well it made sense to retire the old warhorse with the DSL install coming. You don't want a computer crashing while using DSL I hear. With a heavy heart I began my search for a new computer. It is amazing but I am filled with sadness over retiring Old Betsy. Sold her for $100. Figured I spent about $4500 on her.

Perhaps that is the reason for the melancholy. A more logical choice might be post cycle blues and clomid and very slow business. Whats your pick?
