Oatmeal is a natural food, and is used in fitness as a carb more-so than any other carb. (perhaps tied with yams) It does not cause bloating.

Perhaps it's nearing that time of the month?

Her bloating is most likely either 1) water retention/hormonal as you said or 2) due to her constipation problems......

I think a dr's visit may be in order....

I'm not making a diagnosis which is why I suggested a dr's visit.....

I'm only guessing as to the causes based on her many, many, many posts by her here & the women's forum about her bloating probs & constipation probs.....

There is a big diff between guessing based on repeated info by someone & a true diagnosis.....

doubt it is the bran or the oatmeal it self
what are you adding to it?
or is there something added to it?
ie instant flavoured crap
and are you eating it or bolting it down?
if it is the oatmeal it self perhaps you are allergic to it

oatmeal/fiber can cause bloating if you're not used to

Coming for a white-processed-food diet to a more natural-whole-rich in fiber requires time and adaptation

yes true but after a while that will diminish

She's been having these problems for some time now...... If I remember correctly, she's been posting about this same problem since she first started posting...which is why it's made me wonder if it's a bigger problem than just diet or a particular food....ie an allergy or something else...

exactly what i was getting at
or allergic to some additive whether it is in the oatmeal or something she is adding
or think of the food combining theory
