Yes, I agree with BLUT..Apples are making a comeback and are rated #1 by consumer reports
whether or not you are being serious, I would really like to see the tablet OS make a run at some of the apple demographic.

My tablet is probably the best purchase ive ever made.

I haver a DELL, right now, but CR did list the Apple as best laptop. BTW what is a "tablet OS"
I was referring to the Tablet PC operating system. It is just XP Pro with ink enabled features.

I'm pretty sure there are really only 2 manufacturers for all pc laptops... I think the big brands subcontract out.... that being said, Apple all the way, i'm on mine now... from an unbiased viewpoint I can say it's much better. I own a centrino laptop, a g4 powerbook, an ibook, an amd desktop, and a g5 desktop... I can say I prefer PC for desktop applications but the pc notebooks don't stand up at all to the macs... my 1.67 g4 tears up my 2.4(ish) centrino(dell) both w/ 1 gb of ram.

lies all lies! :)

an alienware is designed for gamers..

sony builds the smallest laptops with best specs

what exactly do you want the laptop for what do you do on the laptop.. do you travel often.. does size matter.. screen size matter.. weight matter... allthis shit plays a role in choosing your laptop.. to get real reviews i'd search a better place than here for your answers..

2 at my "office" (1 mac lappy one mac desktop) 3 at home... the powerbook was a replacement for the ibook b/c instead of adding a bluetooth module, i just figured i'd buy a new computer with it built in... and because the powerbooks are so pretty... macs network well now w/ windows so it's not a hassle at all

go apple... get someone currently enrolled in school to buy it for you... save ya about 10%
don't listen to this guy! he is crazy go nuts. Crapple :) outside of Chart 5.1, I've never been able to use one for anything worthwhile. Interesting to see what is going to happen with intel having released 64 bit processors.

ya.. these apple fanatics are pretty dumb.. lets go mac when like 90% of the world is triggered around pc.. i mean you can download so much software for macs and they are so easy to use once you've used a pc for about 5 years.. not only that its so easy to adapt to a macs console..

macs are good for graphics and thats it..

That's not true anymore. I'm not an Apple fanatic, I merely got one and saw that I preferred it to Windows.

I used PCs as a programmer from about 1985. I watched and participated in the advent of Windows and laughed at mac users. I worked with 3.1, 95, 98, Me, 2000 and never found a version which didn't leave me cursing at the screen but that was all there was for mainstream use. I used Linux on the side and while it kind of had everything it was a pain to use.

Finally I got a Mac in 2002. Just an iBook since I fancied a laptop and I also wanted an iPod and there was no Windows version back then. It has all the power and convenience of Linux/Unix and ease of use of Windows and more. It felt comfortable from the start for someone who'd used Windows throughout the Windows lifetime.

I later got a desktop mac which is now my main machine. I still have a slew of PCs and my fastest machine is a PC but I use the mac. I even spent the whole of last November just using a PC again and it was with a sigh of relief that I went back to my mac afterwards. Macs rock.

No viruses, no trojans, no hassle. A bit crap for games since they appear first on PC and there's no real substitute for Nero for burning cds and dvds although Toast does a good job. The Microsoft Office suite is available and there's even Virtual PC available to emulate a PC, for those occasional programs you just can't let go of, but I find that everything I want is now available on the mac.

For someone who just browses the net; does email; writes documents; rips and plays music and writes them out to disc and wants to be free of viruses, trojans and Windows hacks then the mac is a great option. If you're looking for a laptop to do those things then the Apple laptops are well worth a look. You should make sure you get at least 512 megs of ram.

I don't understand why so many people have the kneejerk reaction to fellate all over Dell every time someone starts one of these threads.
