When we were about to be wiped off the map during the cold war we had a president who had no problem saving this country and talking it out with the soviet union. Why is it that no matter how much we may hate the guy(saddum hussan sp.) that we will not try to negociate with him. How bad can he be, remember there was a super power who wanted to exterminate us. This guy is nothing, he doesn't even have nuclear weapons and a lot of the country thinks he is a threat! As much as I would like to see this guy dead is there really a reason why americans should worry about him and what he can do when if you think about the thousands of nuclear bombs that were pointed in our direction never reached us because not for we bombed the soviet union but we talked it out. I don't know but what do you guys think!!???

One I don't think it was ever a hate thing with Russia.
It was more about life style idea's. I don't think they wanted us gone.....just out of there business and way. So talking about probelms and finding workable solution was an option.

This current stuff...well they just want us dead and gone.

ANYWAY,IF SADDAM IS SPONSORING ANTHRAX ATTACKS,HE DESERVES TO FACE SOME SORT OF NEGATIVE REPERCUSSIONS.HE IS KNOWN TO HOUSE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.

PERSONALLY SPEAKING,A TREATY OF SOME SORT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA IN FORM,BUT ENFORCING IT WOULD PROBABLY BE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE.PLUS,IF HE IS HARBORING TERRORISTS OR SPONSORING TERRORISTIC ACTS,THEN AS I SAID BEFORE, HE DESERVES NEGATIVE REPERCUSSIONS.

IRAQIS CONTINUE TO DISOBEY THE US NO FLY ZONE,AND THEY CONTINUE TO SHOOT AT OUR AIRCRAFT.

I can actually remember the Cuban Missile Crisis -was in 2nd grade- and it was pretty scary; but, hardly anything at all like what we're going thru right now.
you can't really negotiate with someone who's main purpose is to destroy your way of life-at any cost. The Russians weren't all that hellbent on obliterating us through violence-at least not in 1963.
And there were threats made by Kennedy of massive retailation back at the Russians in relation to the Cuban missiles pointed at Florida that we never heard the extent of, because, back then, our news channels weren't allowed to broadcast sensitive material paramount to the security of this country. They only reported what the govt gave them. Today, with each narcissistic anchor and journalist intent on upgrading their career by unleashing the latest scoop- irregardless of country security- we hear and see things that don't always work in our favor as a nation. Then again, being fed only govt. produced information as news isn't the right way to go, either.
Don't be fooled into believing that Iraq is really no threat and that they'd be happy to sit down and negotiate. They have the capacity to wipe out thousands of us right now through chemical attack. It's just figuring out the delivery system.Negotiating for them would be a means of stalling action by us.
