LONDON (AP) - Britain on Friday barred radical Muslim cleric Omar Bakri from returning to the country that was his home for the past 20 years, saying his presence was no longer "conducive to the public good."

The decision came as the country's top legal official defended plans to deport another radical Muslim cleric and nine other foreigners suspected of posing a threat to national security.

Jordan said Friday it would ask Britain next week to extradite one of those detained, cleric Omar Mahmoud Othman Abu Omar, also known as Abu Qatada. Spanish officials have described him as Osama bin Laden's "spiritual ambassador in Europe."

Bakri, 45, left Britain on Saturday, one day after Prime Minister Tony Blair proposed tough new anti-terrorism measures including the deportation of extremist Islamic clerics who preach hate.

I know a gazillion muslims here, Turks most of them... none have any particular issues with Americans or Brits, except for the commonplace Euro-feeling that the war was unncesary and Bush being a tool...However, there is a long way between having an opinion and wanting to kill americans...

So "Majority"??? I really doubt it, more like "Minority within the minority"... then again "Sect"`? LMAO, what is exactly your criteria for defining a sect? Number of followers? Anything with less followers than "Christianity"?

Actually, I live in Heidelberg, home to more than 10.000 american troops bro... If there is a target in Germany, for sure this would be high in the list. Last year they found a house not 10 miles away from mine, where a couple was fabricating bombs. The type with nails and shit inside.

It's a real problem for all of us, before Terrorism used to be something you simply read about when ETA or IRA decided to stire shit... now it's becoming a daily occurence.

What Iam against is simply blanket statements against a segment of the population based solely on their belief: Can you spell Jews + WW2??? Hate will not solve this problem bro, will make it worst.

The honest, hard working muslims who don't hate you know may very well start doing so when you deport their familiers out of what they feel is their Country too... (supossed they are, for example, born in the US and lived their entire life there? Are they less american than you simply because they believe in something different?)
