I've always thought frat fags were pussies. Personally I never needed "brothers" to feel superior. Whats the point in it anyway? parties? Women? If you need some greek letters to get that, then you have issues.
There is no way I would ever join one. On the contrary, I would love to smack the shit out of some of those people.

I am in a fraternity in northern cali, Some people ust dont understand why people join. Hoestly I joined one because i came to college at 17 years old and was a pretty shy kid. I wasnt that out going and needed some help meeting some people that I shared interests with. Thats all fraternitys do, I dont buy my firends we are a large group with similar interests they can choose to hang out with me or not. Its kinda the same theroy as using steriods if you could build muscle without it then there would be no need, for me I had a hard time meeting friends on my own so I used my fraternity as a resource and Ihave some friends now that will always be a part of my life. you cant buy that kind of bond.

I am in one... Delta Sigma phi..... and believe me there are no pussies in my house... all are football players 2 lacrosse player...i'm 245lbs and pretty muscular..... one kid benched 495 for 6 reps raw .... some good football players too.... i know a lot of frat do have some queer ass abercrombie and fitch fags... but my house is a lot different..... ....believe me if any of you dudes came to my house on a friday or shit any night you would see why people join... good times with a bunch of good ole boys...

I used to feel the same way...then things starting changes there, the older guys graduated out and suddently I found myself standing next to kids I wouldnt even talk to, never mind cal my brother.....

Probably more diversity than anyone would ever find yet they all got along great and it was a blast going out or just chilling. Basically just a bunch of unique characters living together.
Not the typical fraternity house but I valued the experience and it provided diversity out of character with the general perception of frats. <like Mr. Sig Ep's post above mine - man you are giving frats a bad name, take your Brad Pitt wannabe fratman till I die ass elsewhere - you are perpetuating the stereotype, no wonder why people feel this way>

My perception on 90% of frat guys is they were geeks in high school and want to feel 'cool' in college. It's just like in high school with the cheerleaders. What is wrong with Joining a frat making a ton of friends having big ass parties and having an IN with tons of girls. People say I would never pay for friends , think about that, you pay what 500$ a year some goes to your house for repairs maintence, some to the national, then the rest goes into your social fund so you can have parties. I know just about every thursday friday and saturday we would get about 50-60 cases and have the biggest beer pong, and drinking game, PREgame then go out to the bars or goto a party, IF you have never been to something like this it is alot of fun. Plus if you hardworking you can make connections, I know I got a great internship with a Former member of my frat, 15$ a hour doing nothing when I was a sophmore in college. Payed off nicely. I think at most schools if your a good looking smart guy and want to party and meet lots of women joining a frat is a great idea, You will be able to network with so many people it is great. I mean some people get overboard, were the little letter shirts everywhere and only talk to people in their frats, but everything any club has assholes dickheads, im sure a bunch of u non frat guys hated the frats but didnt have a reason.

It's called social skills. If you or anyone else thinks being is a frat is cool then so be it but it was never my cup of tea. I had much more fun being an outsider and showing up at these frat parties.

living in a frat is a lot cheaper than living on campus about 800 bucks compared to 4000 bucks a year saves me some money... and i don't drive daddies fucking lexus...shit im from a single parent family... personally i think thier are some rediculous flames in this post,I know what kinda frats you guys are talking about but the guys i live are some real breeders and i'm jsut getting fired up cuz i know my boys ain't like your generalization of frats boys.

all this depends on where your from, yeah this is way off topic, reading this and the fact that I have been reflecting for some time on the choice, I joined when I was at a point of insecurity and lost. I did see that everyone wanted to be the same to fit the mold, its ridiculous, the PACK MENTALITY is not for me... and never will be again

I can't believe I'm actually responding to this, but yes, I was actually in a fraternity (I know several of the mods are too, hehe) - and at least at my college, fraternity guys got the best women (with virtually no exceptions). Why? Because the best looking women were in sororities. It was a small school (less than 5,000) and about 40% of the campus was in some greek organization. So if you didn't have a third eye, it was kind of assumed that you would go through rush. The connections were incredible (the sons of all the landowners, business execs, doctors, lawyers, would all readily help you out). And, the dues were only $250 a semester at my school (very cheap by any standards). And lastly, it was something that I could put on my resume! Peace.

Don't get me wrong, I hung out with the popular croud in high school but I wasn't one of those that was somebody in high school and now that they are nobody in life (the real world). This is ridiculous! I bet you could say that people who want to get huge have insecurites, just as kids who join frats do. Whatever though!!! One thing people need to learn is not to OVERGENERALIZE. It's a mistake to group people and claim that you know them based on one facet of their identity. Not only do you sound uneducated and angry, but you are preventing yourself from getting to know interesting people. The very people who are claiming that frat boys aren't individuals, are proving that they, themselves, have no individuality. You can't lump people into stereotypical personas, and than say "I have my own ideas." No you don't and you just proved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me an my boys started our own...we were founding fathers at my school. We didn't want to become a frat...but the school was going to kick us off campus because we were throwing parties and doing various bar nights. They said we were a gang so we became a frat...it was good for some shits and giggles..
