Now I Need YOUR DIET help.....

Lately my stomach has been in knots....severe knots......99% of the time it's after I train......now, we all know nutrition is key PW, but it's been virtually impossible to eat enough. I've been able to mustar in maybe a cup of egg whites and some whey when I finish, but barely. Then before bed I force another casein shake down and eat some peanuts. My ? for you is, what do you eat PW, any suggestions on something that is gentile on your stomach?
 
One of the hardest things in this sport is dieting and eating when you dont want to. I say stick to your regular diet and what you cant finish throw in a blender grind it up and slam it!! 30 seconds of tasting like shit is better than pickin at food for 30 minutes. I grind everything up, if I cant eat it its in the blender. I always grind up my tuna apple shakes and sometimes even chicken. It tasts like shit but thats what it takes to be jacked. Suck it up and push through it my man.

I understand....and I do.....tell me, whqat do your meals look like post workout?
 
Rught after I have a pro shake will 110g of dextrose then 60-90 min after I have 8 oz of chicken 2 sweet potatoes and 1 1/2 cups brown rice
 
Ok big man.....what if I tossed quick oats, whey, egg whites and skim in a blender PW? WOuld it work?
 
Id say go for it. Or you can go buy a smoothie bar for 15000 dollars and solve the whole problem LOL. I get to eat smoothies from now on :)

See..now we're talking something easy to get down...smoothies......whats in the recipe? You down them post workout? No fruit PW though eh? Dont wanna be replacing liver glycogen.........
 
Jkurz1, i've heard the no fruit pwo thing before, but can you explain it in more depth. More than replacing liver glycogen is not ideal. :)

to be honest, I cant explain it...I just know many frown on it............I do know some bbers who slam a couple of banaans pw.........I used to and put on some nice size, but I really dont know the true pros and cons.....
 
Hmmm I see.

my whole thing is that i want to use fruit PWO because during the day its too sugary, and may lead me to being a fatty lol. and as i understand, its less likely to be stored as fat pwo.
 
now thats crazy man.....how many people do you know that got fat from FRUIT?????

The milk could cause an upset stomach. For me it does. I would stick with the dextrose + whey post workout and for your bedtime shake (if bulking) go for casein + oats + skim + ANPB (if you want). Good Luck
 
Supposedly fruit has a high concentration of fructose and will fill liver glycogen, resulting in any excess carbs "spilling over" and getting stored as fat. This is ludicrous and came from the relation of the fructose in fruit to the high-fructose corn syrup found in many of present days store-bought processed garbage. The HFCS is a highly dense form of fructose and could cause problems, but fruit is mostly fiber and water. Go ahead and have some fruit post-workout. There's nothing wrong with it, and your body needs food right after anyway.

I honestly don't think it's anything to be concerned with. Even if it's not 100% ideal, the difference it would make in your physique would be so extremely small that it'd be okay to go ahead and do it if you so desired.

JKurz, maybe the eggs? I don't know, I don't like them. I doubt it's the whey, though if you're taking it with water it might be going through you quick and giving you stomach pain. Just try switching around a few different things and see what happens.

www.cityblends.com check it out. Ive customized a shake called Purple rain to have 90 g of pro 110 g dextrose and a creatine and glutamine pack and it tastes good.
 
I just read a great article in flex about fruit (yes flex) and it explains fruits actions in regards to liver glycologen. It recomends eating certain fruits at certain times of the day. Upon waking, to refill depleted liver glycologen, before workout to repeat the same processs and aid in energy et., and post workout. It also lists what fruits are appropriate to eat at each of these meals, in order to achieve anabolic results while completly negating any fat gain. I will post more details if yall are interested.

It's just that it's not ideal............

Many of the Pro and armatures that I have worked out with or know recommend eating an apple or a banana immediately following a workout. Seems there are a lot of varying opinions on this. Sounds like something worthy of research.
 
Egg whites are easy to digest

good points! some fruits are suited to certain times of the day!
 
Here you go damnit (jk),

Preworkout-These fruiets provide higher fructose than glucose for sustained fuel that won't block fat burning. Eat one or two servings:
Pear (1 medium)
Watermelon (1 wedge)
Apple (1 medium)
Cantalopue (1/2 melon)
Grapes (1 cup)
Strawberries (2 cups)
Raspberries (2 cups)

Morning
These fruits provide equal or nearly equal fructose and glucose to restock liver and muscle glycogen to help halt muscle breakdown. Eat two or three servings.
Pineapple (1 cup diced)
Honeydew Melon (1 wedge)
Orange (1 Medium)
Banana (1 Medium)
Banana (1 Medium)
Blueberries (1 cup)
Nectarine (1 Medium)
Kiwi Fruit (2 Medium)

Post workout:
These fruits proved more glucose than fructose for restocking muscle glycogen and enhancing muscle growth. The last five fruits from the morning catagory are also decent choices postworkout, for their ability to fill glycogen stores. EAt one or two servings along with white bread, baked potatoes, or carb drink.
Cherries (1 cup)
Peach (1 Medium)

Call me crazy, but Bro, why dont you find out what is knotting your stomach up and fix it!!!! If it is something that has started "lately" as you say, figure what is fuckin you up, fix it and then eat what you want, not what is "gentle"

Umm..because I've tried just about every different way, so now I pose the question to the bros......maybe my training is just to intense..... :mix:

Flex recomends these fruits at these times of the day as being ideal. Fruit can be a very important ingredient in a bodybuilder's nutrition plan. I know that I have stayed away from fruits due to all of the negative feedback on this board. However, after reading this article and understanding the reasoning behind it, I can see why certain fruits at certain times of the day can be extremely beneficial.

Don't think I'll ever use fruits PW......just heard, read, etc. too many thoughts and theories that frown on it......both SC and Mr.X say never.....but, they arent the only ones.........

Basically eat a low fat diet durring the week. Keep fiber high and protein and carbs what ever you like. I was avoiding anything like red meat. Basically most of my meals were carb countdown chocolate milk with whey protein powder and oats. Idea is to get all the shit out of your digestive tract before you stimulate the gall bladder to release all the toxins and stones into your digestive tract. I will be finding out how well it works late tonight and in the morning. I might even take some pictures of the stones if I feel up to it. I really don't know if I feel like fishing them out of the toilet. Maybe I will just take a picture of the toilet when I am done. LOL.

Well Dorain Yates approved sell Pro Recover which is designed for PW, it has a fast acting carb and good quality protein. Its perfect, and all you really need - why not go for that?
