Not responding to creatine...

I don't think I respond well to creatine. I just added creatine (~10g ED) for a month and saw no significant strength, weight, or size gains at all. Wasn't there some brand/type of creatine that was different for some reason and might work better for me? I have Precision Engineered pure creatine monohydrate...not impressed. Getting ready to do a var/test cycle in about 3 weeks so I'd like to have a good creatine to add.

Yeah theres Sans V12, Syntrax Swole V.2 and I think another called Satur8. I am using Swole right now and to be honest I don' think it is doing much. I think regular generic micronized creatine monohydrate worked better for me. The swole doesn't bloat you like regular creatine adding water retention, and I think this is one a major factor as to why creatine works well, but I will will take it for another month and see what happens.

get micronized creatine monohydrate.... cheap and effective... also when were you taking it?

i usually do 10g after workout... then 5g with a successive meal.... :o

what dr said is right on swole va v12 and satur 8 i have used the swole v2 and i think its great stuff the pumps in the gym were pretty sick i am using satur 8 now and i think it might work alittle better than yhe swole v2 even though i think they have the same ingredients.celltech is ok but way overpriced you could get some dextrose and creatine for alot less also ive seen an ad for a new buffered creatine called crealkyn (i think) its made by physique nutrition the ad sounded pretty good if your gonna be using anavar i would definetley use one of these creatine products even if you didnt respond to creatine when not on var var and creatine go hand and hand so good luck hope this helps g

I've always questioned creatines effectiveness. I know a lot of people swear by it, but I think its somewhat overhyped. I personally only use it post workout w/ slin.

I tried monohydrate before, and didn't see shit. Then I used EAS PhosphagenHP and i saw some awesome results as far as strength and weight gain (alot of it being water weight...but it was worth it). Ever since, I've told anyone I know who is thinking about creatine to get this stuff...and none of my friends that have tried it have been disappointed.

I've also heard that effervescent creatine is good, although I've never tried it personally.

you guys should try the swole v2 , v12 or satur 8 they have a different type of creatine that is more absorbable than regular creatine and they are not loaded with sugar when i take the satur8 before my workout my strenght goes up and the pumps are great there are alot of other people on the board that have had good results with these products i think some people respond better then others to creatine so it might be worth trying one of these new types to see what happens the price is no more than reg creatine its definetely worh a try

I've used both the creatine liquid & the powder. The liquid was from GNC & was....eh, ok at best. The powder was the German creatine from Pro Source. I think you got 3/1000 gram tubs for like $100. That seemed to work extremely well. For it to work for me I was drinking a Carbo Force (100g carbs) energy drink with it either before or after a workout. The extra carbs seemed to really kick things in. Didn't see a great strength increase from it but the pumps & muscle fullness that I was getting from it were fantastic. I think it's a great alternative if you ain't juicin'.

Back in the day when it was first brought out by EAS, Phosphagen, I gained 10lbs in like a week, it was amazing! Every since then (9 years agao), I've gotten nothing off of creatine. And I've tried them all. Micronized, serum, powders, effervescents, you name it. So when this new vs came out last year, glycocyamine which is supposed to help non-responders by causing your body to produce it's own creatine, I got excited. So I went out and got some EndoCre3, and you know what?......Nothing! F*** creatine, it's a waste of my money.
Just because science says it works, doesn't mean so in every individual. :redhot:

I never really got much from creatie untill I used it recently as Quadsweep suggested durring my pre-contest diet. I'm not sure if it is the actual way I ran it or had something to do with the diet. I ran it as such.....1st & 6th week Load 1 tsp per meal, weeks 2,3,4 & 7 1 tspn with 1st meal & one post training, weeks 5,8,9 and 10 off. Seemed a little unusual to me when I first read it but, for whatever reason, it certainly worked. Also, it was just plain ole Natures Best Creatine Monohydrate, nothing over priced or fancy.

Swole V2 works for me and I don't respond to regular creatine.

Same here. I used creatine monohydrate and got didly squat. No weight change, no increase in weights (if any it was due to placebo effect).

Huck suggested to me to use effervescent. The monohydrate particles are very large and don't dissolve fully, thus, absorption is poor. I will be trying effervescent or micronized soon.

If your diet allows for it, I recommend taking it immediately post work out with a full 100g carb ultra fuel or carbo force as Daveboy mentioned. I've been told it is the 100 grams of sugars which triggers an insulin reaction, allowing better transfer into the muscle. I did see a study somewhere on this. But of course that's going to add 400 calories/100grams of sugars to your diet. Anyway, not professing to be an expert, but it does seem to work well for me off cycle. I use the cheap powder with good results.

Well regardless of what it is...it worked for me. This was a few years ago when I didn't know much about supplements and it still worked very well.

^^yup. Why pay creatine prices for sugar?

as DOG said, effervescent is the way to go. For added benefit mix ribose, glutamine and effervescent C and take twice daily fo individual results.

I've talked to a alot of people about creatine. Some get the shits, some don't get shit at all!
One thing is true: don't use that creatine serum -- it's garbage.

I do very well on creatine. I find that I can get more out of higher doses -- up to about 20g ED. It's a lot, but I can gain over 10lb with this. Only side effect is serious cramping, even on 3+ gallons h20 ED.

So for your situation, try the v12 or swole v2.

Some people get results out of creatine, others nothing. Most of it will usually be water gain and some strenght but on a temporary basis.
