Not getting sore anymore

xzibit

New member
For some reason I'm not getting sore. I tried adding extra weight, but my arms just get tired for a while, then I'm not sore anymore a while later. When I try to workout again later (because I'm not sore) I can't. The weird thing is I'm not even sore! Does anyone know what's going on?

Doesn't necessarily mean you're doing anything wrong, so long as you're progressing normally with weight amounts, size, etc. However, it could be an indicator that it's time to change your workout.

Soarness doesn't necessarily mean growth...
I believe soarness is usually a lactic acid build up in your muslces... actually prolongs recovery. But I know what you mean... it feels so much better when you are aching the next day.. its so much more of a satisfying feeling :)

Change my workout? what do you mean? Do different exercises? All I know is bench press, curls, pull ups, dips, and push ups. I have this little gym called TKO (pretty cool :D). Do you know a site that'll show me some exercises, with pics? thanks.

I agree bro.

Yep, change it up. Shock your body.

I'm trying some new stuff, pretty good site, thanks DrBones. My wrists are killing me though, they feel like they're gonna break :bawling: they make a lot of popping and cracking noises. Should I get some kind of gloves to help my wrists?

Gloves are for girls and Citruscide.

There are a ton of different workouts on this board alone. Do a little searching and try a new one. It's time you branched out and found new toys to play with.

IF your wrists ache, try doing some wrist curls once or twice a week...
Also, what I've found to work are wrist straps on straight barbell curls... this movement usually really bother my wrists, but after getting some wrist straps(not the spandex ones, but the ones with the little pad and the band that you can pull really tight), doing my straight bar bicep curls with the wrist straps, followed by wrist curls without the straps, my wrists are completely pain free.. Hopefully sometime in the near future I'll be able to completely ditch the wrist straps. You can use the wrist straps on anything that bothers your wrists... but make sure you do some wrist curls some you don't develop a weak spot... As soon as your wrists dont bother you anymore try to abandon the straps..
Glad you liked that site

Do you use straps?

i try to search for them but cannot find. am idoing something wrong??

www.exrx.net

That site has a comprehensive listing of exercises and such.

As for you, xzibit, I wouldn't use straps, gloves or anything like that. Be all natural man. Your wrists will strengthen themselves. We're adaptive organisms. Directly hitting your wrists may be helpful though. I'd recommend:

Wrist Curls 3x8
Reverse Wrist Curls 3x8
Static Barbell Holds - 65s

I'm going to start doing the static holds as well. They should greatly help to increase grip strength. If you're paranoid of you feel alot of pain though (to the point where it hurts to type/write) then I'd say you should check up with a doctor maybe, just in case something's fractured or whatever. Just be safe man, I really don't know what the cracking could be.
