Non-responders to Proviron

I know there’s a few people out there who don’t experience increased libido on Proviron, recently I too haven’t noticed any libido enhancement after taking 75mg – 100mg daily doses over a 2 week period (purely for a libido boost, not with any other AAS). Does anyone know why some people respond to it and others don’t? Any idea why this might be - it’s definitely the real thing from a reliable source.

I've seen a few of the studies and in one, if I remember rightly, I think approx. 80 men from 250 were shut down (partially) from a year study - proviron dosed at around 100mg. So for some yes it does and for others it would seem to not affect HTPA.

Most people get a decent boost in libido, even as a stand-alone drug. I used to, but not any more it seems. I'm interested in understanding why proviron no longer works for me and why for some people it never works?

Interestingly I now feel more of a libido boost from tongkat ali - I think I'll stick with that while off cycle as it doesn't shut you down at all.

If you take Proviron and you want more libido, you need more Test. Proviron lowers SHBG which then frees up more Test. But by doing this...you shut yourself down. Which means no more Test...no more libido. But if you add Test to proviron...now more Test is freed up and you have more libido.

Sounds like a Catch-22 carth. But since I have no probs with libido on or off-cycle, I've not yet tried proviron b/c it's kinda pricey. Do you think it would make a significant different running 50mg/day of proviron while on 750-1g/week of test vs just the test alone? If so, I might give it a shot my next heavy test cycle.

Hey Carth - I was going to throw in some proviron at the tail end of a test/tren/var cycle and continue running it during PCT with letro and clomid. I've never done proviron before, and thought that was the correct way of doing it, but now that I read your comments, I'm questioning myself. Should I do something differently?

Thanks Carth... so basically if you're taking exogenous test then proviron really kicks in to increase sex drive further however if you take it on it's own it can (for some) just shut you down gradually and therefore decrease sex drive over time.

I'm sure I've heard from some people that they've used proviron post cycle to increase sex drive temporarily... however I imagine there's a fine balance as to whether it will work.

Just out of curiosity does anyone here run proviron on it's own (excluding those on HRT) and experience a big increase in libido? And if so, any idea why it's working based on the above?

Bro...when it comes to PCT...ask someone else. I do not do PCT as I am on gear all year round. I am on HRT for life so doing a PCT is pointless for me. Sorry bro.

Proviron is a strong androgen, one used for ED. Proviron doesnt lowered SHBGs, its has a greater binding affinity to the SHBGs over Test.

The study mentioned above was done on men with extremely low sperm count. The drug was used to increase sperm count. What the study didnt mention was what the base line test levels were in the 80 suppressed men. They just might have been right there.

The study was also done for a full year at 100-150mg per day. For only 80 of the 250 to show any suppression at all tend to make me think that proviron is only mildly suppresive.

With that being said, I still would not take proviron while I was on PCT, as the HPTA is fragile and I would not want any androgens in my system while I am trying to recover.

I do agree that the use of proviron in conjunction with test is an excellent idea. Provirons greater binding affinity to the SHBG will surely result in a higher free test level, which is truely benificial during a cycle.

I apologize about that. He is right! Proviron has greater binding affinity to the SHBGs over Test, thus leaving more Test into a free state rather than bound.

Libido is a funny thing...

It might not be the proviron. The mental aspect of sex drive is where its at.

If you can masterbate and keep it hard, its probably not the proviron, its probably the fact that your partner doesn really do it for you anymore.

I mean there are a lot more things involved with sexual desire other than erections!
