My computer crash died last night, it overheats and then I can't use it until it cools off, so I just went to bed and dreamt of dancing sugarplums.

My post count is all fucked up - it is like 50 too high and I actually registered next month.

I like the username "SloppySeconds" but I also kinda like "RapistWit". But then "Sally" would be nice too.

I'm gonna go and get myself to work.

Here's a trick I used to used when I was stuck with a PC laptop.
Remove the battery bay, and insert a dry ice pack in it.

I've considered sheets of aluminum foil coming off of it as a heat sink/sail.
It actually works fairly okay at work where it has AC and a cool surface (my desk) to sit on (as opposed to my lap). I just can't do anything too processor intensive or it dies.

On an amusing note - the fan on the heatsink is what is dead - and it seems to work if I hold the laptop upside down and bang on the side of it - it makes a lot of noise, but it will at least move.
I just haven't figured out how to use my laptop while it is upside down.

Incidentally I am getting a PowerBook AlumBook with the 1.25Ghz. I should have it sometime next week.

I am going to start all the calls today, buy it, someone will pick it up for me tomorrow, and then it should be here on the island when they come back - I think either over the weekend or sometime next week.

Last night I was wondering if maybe I shouldn't do it because this one seemed to be working... then it died.
It is like I have a mind meld with the thing and if I praise it, it dies.
