Hey girls..

Sorry this is the 2nd thread I've posted in your area in the past couple weeks, but you guys were such a big help before.

My girlfriend's birthday is Thursday. What are some of the most memorable b-day presents you all have received?

I'm off to the mall to shop.. but I never find anythign I like there.

I can't post this in C&C it will end up being a thread where the guys will post about how I should give her anal or something equally as stupid. I would've posted it in girl talk but it turns out I'm not allowed to :)

Thanks

I'm probably no help at all cuz I'm a practical gift person & lately I just don't want gifts -- I have everything I need & there isn't really anything I want.

That said, what about a trip somewhere for the weekend or something. I took my husband to Jamaica for his 40th bday for the weekend for example...

How long have you been together? How much money are you looking to spend?

Chocolate is always a good idea, especially if it's expensive chocolate like Godiva :) I've been hinting that I would love to get a Godiva gift basket for my bday next month, but so far it looks like noone is getting the hint lol :D

"A day at the spa" gift is also a good idea. Every woman loves to be pampered ;)

Oh yes, those spa packages are a great idea....some even give you lunch or drinks while you're there....and you feel all smooshy afterwards...

Or make your own gift basket for her: buy a basket, leave natural or spray paint and fill with stuff you know she likes. Chocolates, home made treats, a pretty wine glass or 2 with a small bottle of wine or champagne, bath supplies, etc

If you've been together a long time, and want to spend a little more, what about something electronic...like a cell phone, sidekick, some computer software, or something like that that she could use a lot. I was just thinking of what I would really like. Not a real expensive phone, sidekick, etc, but justso u could maybe leave her a message throughout the day to tell her something sweet.

OH, Those spa things are a great idea too...it's something we all want, but rarely spend the money to treat ourselves...I think

Another vote for spa gift certificate. It really does say LOVE! All the while she's being pampered, she'll be thinking loving thoughts about you :)

I totally agree that the spa package would be a hit. I think every girl would love that!! And yes, it seems to be something we don't spend money on (or not as often as we'd like to). I wish my b-day was coming up...oh...wait...no boyfriend to buy me one anyways :( he he he...

We've together a year.. or a year and a half.. something like that. We sort of just slept together for a few months at the beginning of uhhhhhhh oh wait that's not what this is about.

It sounds like the spa idea is a big hit! What will $100 get you at the spa, anything good?

Aww pinkpanther, don't worry, I'll buy you a spa package. I'll buy all of you spa packages!

Soon as I make my first Million!

Thanks, I knew the girls would be more helpful than the crackhead boys.

Women like practical gifts. Something liek a vacuum cleaner or an ironing board is always appreciated.

Sewing machines, dusters, brooms, pots and pans, aprons.

And purses

and gift certificates to Victoria's Secret

- Well, isn't that ALWAYS a given??

he he he...j/k boys...

As for what you can get for $100, that depends on the spa. Around me, I think $100 could get you like a facial and maybe a short massage or something like that. I'm sure if you shop around, you will find somewhere to get the best for your $$. Good luck! I'm sure she'll love no matter what you decide :)

Usually a given!!

Wow that doesn't sound like much for $100. I don't think my salary has been keeping up with inflation Ms. Pinky :)

A pedicure is about 35-40. A massage about 60-70. A facial about 50-75. Body treatments like a Salt Glow about 85. Sometimes spas have special gift packages where you can get 2-3 different things for a reduced rate.

Even just a pedicure is wonderful. You could get her that and and still have about 70 left over for another present like some silver jewely, chocolate, perfume, etc.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like much, but if you could get her like two things, that would still take a couple hours for sure. I think she would really appreciate any amount of time of pampering, so a couple hours would suffice. Plus, maybe you can find a deal, or somewhere where you can get more for your $. And, like FitFossil said, you could always just get her one, maybe two, things at the spa and then a gift in addition. I think that would be a great gift, too.

I still think you should get her a little french maid outfit and a duster.

I got her a sterling silver cross on a chain... it's a nice looking one not flashy.. and I'm getting her a massage at this nice place my mom goes to... she works 7 days/week so I think that will be more fun than a manicure.. and I'm taking her out to dinner and drinks with her friends.

but now I feel stupid because Lumberg had a slam dunk gift idea one day too late.. where were you yesterday bor

Just remember, the person dressed up as a french maid when you show up at her door with a 6-poack of beer is YOUR GIRLFRIEND, NOT YOU.

When she gets home from work just stare at her until she asks you WTF? and reply with sincerety "Nothing, you just look really beautiful for someone coming off a day of work, that's all", then cook her dinner (make it her favorite), finish it off with a cake YOU made, then give her a foot rub followed by a "nice gift" that disgustingly smacks of putrid romanticism (e.g. bind all the letters you sent to her while you were dating into a book with a cover and everything). Then go down on her for like an hour til she's so worked up your sweet, cuddly lovemaking session turns into raw sweaty, panting, "hammer fucking". Roll her off the wet spot and then lie next to her and stroke her hair til she falls asleep.

Last step is to go back into the living room and finish watching the game (that you taped on the VCR) and order a fucking pizza...

I'll guarantee you'll score a year's worth of points off of that one!
